As Los Angeles grapples with yet another wave of devastating wildfires, the spotlight has shifted to Brentwood, where reports suggest that Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar's $40 million home may be in the wildfire's path.

On January 12, 2025, a user on X @keep6ixsolid shared a report indicating that Lamar's mansion in Brentwood, which was reportedly one of the most expensive buys of 2024, is in the path of the wildfire in Los Angeles, which started on January 7, 2025.

As a result, many users on X took to their accounts and have been abuzz with reactions, blending humor, concern, and speculation, with many humorously suggesting that people are going to say that the fire was started by Drake, as Kendrick Lamar and Drake had a rap battle in 2024 —

"They gon say drake started the fire😭," one commented.

Moreover, many users on X suggested that this is some next-level hate in the comments section, while others shared that they could not believe that the fire was still not extinguished:

"This is some next level hating," a netizen commented.
"This fire is still going?????? wtf," another commented.
"Now if I laugh and make jokes I would be wrong but I’m not going to," one more user on X.
"Oh no 🌚," another netizen on X.

Some users highlighted that during the record-breaking storms in Toronto in July 2024, Drake's mansion was reportedly flooded, a situation shared by the rapper on Instagram. While many mocked the incident, others expressed sympathy, offering prayers for both Drake and his mansion —

"Didn’t his fans clown Drake when his house flooded? I mean, I’m not saying anything," a netizen commented.
"But when Drakes house flooded, it was nothing but corny ass Kendrick fans in the replies like: “it was gods plan to show yall the liar”. As a Drake fan, I genuinely hope Kendrick, his family even his property are good. This beef done exposed a lot of real life losers," one more on X.
"People in the comments still making narratives… 🤣 what y’all want Drake to do in this situation? How are y’all saying his fans prayed for this to happen?" a netizen commented.
"Judas also didn't get to spend his 30 pounds of silver," a user on X commented.

As of now, neither Kendrick Lamar nor Drake has responded to the reactions online.

Kendrick Lamar's $40M Brentwood mansion faces Los Angeles wildfire threat

On Sunday, January 12, 2025, news broke on the internet, shared by numerous users on X, indicating that Kendrick Lamar's mansion in Brentwood is under threat from the wildfire that has affected major areas of Los Angeles.

Limited information is available on this threat, and it is currently unknown whether the rapper is still in the mansion or has been evacuated. Additionally, Kendrick Lamar has not yet commented on this report.

The mansion in question was purchased in May 2024 from a trust linked to former Fox Corp. executive Viet Dinh and his wife, Jennifer Ashworth Dinh, for $40 million, according to HyperBeast.

Reports indicate that at the time of purchase, the house was not formally listed for sale on the market. The couple had acquired it in 2019 for $19.5 million. The property spans 16,000 square feet, featuring eight bedrooms in the main house, a wine cellar, gym, pool, and a guesthouse.

The wildfire in Los Angeles began on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, although the exact cause of ignition remains unknown. According to DW News, the death toll has risen to 24, with 16 fatalities recorded in the Eaton Fire zone and eight in the Palisades Fire zone.

The Palisades Fire has now encompassed 23,713 acres and is only 13% contained. Currently, the biggest threat is posed by winds reaching speeds of 70 miles per hour, exacerbating the wildfires.

To date, the fire has destroyed tens of thousands of acres and thousands of structures. The economic loss from the wildfires could range up to $60 billion, as reported by CBS.
