Fans were disappointed when rapper Baby Keem, Kendrick Lamar's cousin, did not appear at Lamar's 'The Pop Out: Ken and Friends' show at Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on June 19, 2024. Keem and Kendrick Lamar first collaborated on Keem's song family ties from his debut album The Melodic Blue in 2021, making fans eager to see them reunite on stage.

However, they were distraught after realizing Keem would not be performing with Lamar and aired their grievances on social media, with one fan tweeting:

The highly anticipated event featured artists such as Dr. Dre, Tyler, the Creator, YG, Roddy Ricch, Ty Dolla $ign, Dom Kennedy, and Steve Lacy.

Fans were sad they didn't get to witness Keem and Lamar perform family ties on stage, calling them an insane duo.

"Kinda sad Kendrick Kamar didn’t bring out 2 Phone Baby Keem.. This duo would’ve went insane tonight," one fan tweeted.
"where the hell is baby keem??? don’t piss me off!" another added.
"Kinda wish Baby Keem popped out too," someone else wrote.

Others pondered what the rapper was doing while Lamar was putting on a show and claimed one of the five playthroughs of Not Like Us was for Keem.

"Baby Keem probably in the crib playing FIFA while all that went down," tweeted someone.
"Not Like Us: 5 Baby Keem: 0 I feel like one of these plays was for keem," added another.
"Just realized they didn’t bring out Baby Keem," wrote another fan.

Keem was reportedly at the show as a photo he took with RDCWorld's Mark Phillips circulated online. It is unclear why he didn't join Lamar for a performance.

Baby Keem produced and wrote a song from Kendrick Lamar's Black Panther soundtrack

Hykeem Jamaal Carter Jr., known as Baby Keem, gained recognition for his work on the 2018 Black Panther soundtrack, where he wrote and produced the track Redemption Interlude. His single Orange Soda in 2019 helped establish him as a prominent rapper.

In 2020, he signed with Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free's pgLang and Colombia Music, leading to his debut album release in 2021. His collaboration with Lamar on the song family ties earned him a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance in 2022.

Keem was also featured on Lamar's 2022 album, Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers, on two tracks, Savior and Savior (Interlude). He joined Lamar on the 'Big Steppers Tour' which ran from June 2022 to March 2024.

In May 2023, the duo released a surprise song called The Hillbillies, whose music video also included a cameo from Tyler, the Creator.

Kendrick Lamar's setlist at 'The Pop Out: Ken and Friends' included him performing almost off his Drake diss tracks, excluding meet the grahams. The rapper kicked off the show with Euphoria and also performed tracks from his albums, including his hits like DNA, HUMBLE, and Alright.

According to Vulture, he closed the show by performing his most popular Drake diss, Not Like Us, six times in a row, including an instrumental performance.
