Playboi Carti's 27th birthday party in New York City on September 13, 2023, ended in disappointment after authorities shut down the event. The rapper took to Instagram to reveal the news, saying, "They told me they would lock me up" if the celebration continued.

This high-profile event was expected to feature performances, including previews of Carti's new tracks with artists like Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert, heightening fans' excitement around his anticipated new album MUSIC. The show was also meant to be dedicated to Playboi Carti’s future tracks.

There, the rapper expressed his concern by posting a set of Instagram stories in which he openly discussed the police interference, stating how his party was shut down, saying:

"They told me they would lock me up," concerning the authorities’ action taken to stop him from having the event.

The shutdown of the event by the New York Police Department (NYPD) reportedly stemmed from overcrowding and concerns over noise levels. After the abrupt ending of the celebration, Playboi Carti wrote in his Instagram story:

"NYPD shut me down I tried soo hard to celebrate with you tonight the music was about to be insane I was outside the whole time."

While exact specifics on what led to the halting of the event remains limited, reports emerging from the local media suggested that overcrowding together with noise reckonings could have led to the involvement of the police.

Such events, especially those involving famous personalities, often draw a crowd, which causes problems with crowd control and safety.

Although the party was cut short, fans were pleased to hear a snippet of new music from the Atlanta-born rapper. The rapper had teased collaborations with prominent figures like Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert, further intensifying anticipation for his forthcoming album MUSIC (also referred to as I AM MUSIC), marking his return to the music scene following his last album, Whole Lotta Red.

In the last few months, the rapper has teased the next project. This preview of new tracks at the event, such as music that features Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert, has only amplified the anticipation for the new music album.

Despite this, there is no definite date for the album's release. However, his recent song, All Red, released in honor of his birthday, may hold the key.
