Boosie Badazz recently opened up about authorities attempting to monitor rapper BG's lyrics. In the latest VladTV interview with DJ Vlad, a part of which was released on August 1, Badazz shared that he felt such monitoring would restrict a rapper's talent.

Shedding more light on the incident, Badazz said:

"He is an artist. He not somebody who’s trying to be a rapper. I gotta speak up for this ’cause they trying to lock somebody up for rapping, for doing his job, saying he can’t put out music, saying he gonna get locked up if he do another video rapping in his car."

He added:

"I don’t know what’s going on in New Orleans court room, bro, but wrong is wrong. You can’t do this."

He further addressed all the fans to support him and BG in the difficult times. Badazz added that the rapper was getting bothered even after doing community service and passing all the necessary drug tests.

For the unversed, BG has found himself in the middle of a legal battle after being accused of violating his supervised release conditions when he performed with Boosie Badazz and also worked on an album with Gucci Mane. The prosecutors urged that he had to turn over the lyrics of the songs he made in that period, and further scrutiny of those lyrics would take place.

HotNewHipHop reported that BG wasn't allowed to include lyrics related to snitching and street crimes in his tracks.

Boosie Badazz and DJ Vlad mentioned how BG's street raps made him more loveable among his fans

43-year-old rapper BG, also known as Christopher Noel Dorsey, had developed a great bond with Boosie Badazz over time. Badazz recently opened up about the scrutiny that Dorsey's lyrics are under, despite him having passed all necessary tests to stay out of trouble.

Badazz and Vlad added that while the rapper's lyrics are monitored, he was mostly loved for his street raps. Badazz also pointed out that the rapper had been associated with rap and music since he was only 13 years old.

While in the interview, Badazz didn't talk much about the legal battle involving Dorsey, he mentioned that they had some collaborative projects, which are ready to release.

This is not the first time that Badazz has spoken about BG. After his arrest post the February concert, Badazz addressed his fans on social media and said:

"These people trying to lock B.G. up for rapping, bro. This gotta stop. We gotta fight for our people."

The incident in question happened in February 2024, about a few months after Dorsey had come out of prison after receiving a sentence of about 12 years. He decided to perform with Boosie Badazz and Gucci Mane in Las Vegas. According to his probation officers, the rapper failed to "obtain prior written approval before entering self-employment" before being a part of the show.

Also, at that time Boosie too was imprisoned on some federal charges. According to the rules of the federal supervised stay, reported by Rolling Stone, a parolee was prohibited from "associating unnecessarily with” convicted felons.

For the unversed, BG was serving a sentence of more than a decade for charges of possession and witness tampering. He was detained shortly after the Las Vegas concert and then released on March 27, 2024. Despite the allegations of performing without permission, Dorsey's lawyers denied all of them. The rapper further shared a post on Instagram in March, where he wrote:

"It’s crazy how after paying my debt to society with 12 and a half years of my life, I come home and still ain’t free."

While he had not made any further statement about the situation, Boosie Badazz spoke about it while being in a conversation with DJ Vlad.
