American musician Nikki Sixx recently spoke about Mötley Crüe's new song in an interview with Janne Innanfors of the Swedish radio station Rockklassiker. Sixx addressed the mixed reactions to the latest song Dogs Of War. According to Sixx, it was all about making songs and not getting bothered with people's opinions.

Previously, in an article published in April by Metal Sucks, the new song was described to be lifeless. The article further stated that the song didn't even sound like it was a typical Crüe track, just like many fans thought too. In the conversation with Janne Innanfors, Nikki Sixx said:

"We like the fact that there was kind of a knee-jerk reaction, because at least people were listening. It's a very strange time now where, whether it's a news cycle or socials, everybody has turned into a critic."

He further added:

"I always say, they've never erected a statue of a critic. It's never happened, right? It's always the artist. But now everybody's a critic... We're just artists writing music, and we're pretty cool. I'm happy with it. I like it."

Sixx said that while people reacting to the song implied that they had been listening to it, but recently most of them had become a critic.

Nikki Sixx spoke about fan's reactions to Dogs Of War

In the latest interview with Janne Innanfors, bassist Nikki responded to all the mixed responses that the band's latest song had received recently. Nikki first addressed fan reactions to his ironic comment about the upcoming music of the band.

He said that it could be described as "a powerful cross between country and hip-hop." He recalled a conversation with fellow bandmate and drummer Tommy Lee and said:

"I said to Tommy... 'Man,' I go… I'm the most sarcastic human being I know. And that sometimes doesn't always come across in a tweet or something."

He explained how the media houses didn't bother to check with them about the comment. He continued:

"No media checked, nobody called the office and said, 'What's going on? I hear they got new music. It sounds like country and hip-hop.' I mean, everybody at the label and management company would have just started laughing. They would have gone, 'You fell for one of Nikki's jokes.'"

Nikki Sixx further added that he believed that in recent times, people loved negativity. He also said that it didn't bother him anymore, since, at the end, people were at least talking about his band.

Talking about the much-criticized music, the animated music video was directed by Nick DenBoer. It was made available to the masses on April 26, as a part of Nashville's Big Machine Records, in a new deal with the rock band.

While making an appearance at the SiriusXM Fight Nation's Busted Open show, Nikki Sixx said that while many had the perspective that the song sounded different, he didn't agree with it.

He further explained the songwriting process of the band, claiming that the best part about them was that they would understand each other's strengths and weaknesses, and work accordingly.
