She was seen hanging out with the players later and was accosted by a young boy who asked her to take a photo of him with the soccer stars. She took on the role of camerawoman with good cheer, positioning herself to get good angles and suggesting for the other kids around to join in the frame.

The surprising moment soon made its way to X, and netizens reacted to the boy’s seeming unawareness of the Fenty mogul’s stardom. One user suggested that the boy was likely unaware of who Rihanna was because her last album Anti was released before he was born.

Rihanna's business and speculations of a ninth album

The Grammy Award winner has certainly been busy since her last album drop. The 36-year-old has established herself as an entrepreneur with many successful businesses.

The Diamond hitmaker announced Fenty Beauty’s premium partnership with the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics on July 18, 2024. In furtherance of the partnership, the beauty brand announced on July 19, 2024, that it would be providing makeup kits for volunteers:

“The Fenty fam just got bigger—we’re hooking up 600 young Victory Ceremonies volunteers with make-up kits and tips-n-tricks to get their Fenty face camera ready for their time to shine as medal bearers for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, the brand captioned its post on Instagram.”

On the question of whether to expect a new album from the Fenty mogul, speculations are rife. Entertainment Tonight reported that the singer had a deal with Live Nation and would release new music and go on a tour in 2024. These reports were debunked by Billboard later on.

The singer has teased the release of a new album for years. Rihanna told Entertainment Tonight at the launch of Fenty Hair that she was “starting over” on her highly-anticipated ninth album and was “prepared to go back in the studio” after the project was set aside.

She explained that she was revisiting some of the songs earlier recorded with “new ears, with my new perspective.”
