On August 26, Lil Wayne shared a snippet of Drake’s new single No Face on his Instagram Stories, in a way reassuring fans that things are good between the two rappers. Rumors had suggested tension between Wayne and Drake, but this gesture seems to have cleared the air. Drake had released three surprise songs, including No Face, Circadian Rhythm, and SOD with Playboi Carti, on August 23.

On Monday, Young Money Entertainment reposted short segments from the three songs Drake originally shared on his alternative IG account @plottttwistttttt. Soon after, Lil Wayne shared No Face from Young Money's post on his IG Stories but he did not write an additional message.

As NFR Podcast reposted Lil Wayne's story on X, fans took to the comments to share their reactions.

"Think that puts the beef rumors to rest", wrote one X user.
"Even Wayne knows Drake won", said another, supposedly referring to Drake and Kendrick Lamar's iconic rap feud earlier this year.
"He finally showing some support", another person wrote.

Several fans wished for a new collaboration between Wayne and Drake.

"a drake and wayne collab will heal hip hop right now", commented one fan.
"First they break you down, just to build you back up", wrote another.

However, a few others brought up the beef rumors.

"But I could’ve sworn Kendrick fans told me Wayne and Drake were beefing..??" wondered one person.
"PR so people can stop thinking they beefing even if they are cause Wayne a classy mf", another said hinting that it could be a PR move on Wayne's part to stop fans from thinking he and Drake aren't on good terms.

Lil Wayne's vague gestures over the past few months confused fans

Following Kendrick Lamar and Drake's scathing rap battle that took the Hip-Hop community by storm in May, several fellow artists publicly declared who they were siding with.

However, due to one of his gestures at a Las Vegas show, Lil Wayne's stance on this has been unclear to fans. On July 13, while performing Drake's 2011 track The Motto, where Weezy was a featured artist, the 41-year-old incorporated a part of Lamar's Not Like Us into the rendition. But he improvised the lyrics "they not like us" into "they don't like us".

Wayne was simultaneously holding up his OVO owl pendant to the audience which seemingly confirmed his support for Drake in the rap battle.

But later on, Lil Wayne began associating with some fellow rappers, including The Weeknd and Rick Ross who don’t have an amicable relationship with Drake. In late July, Lil Wayne was linked with Ross when the two along with DJ Premier and Big Sean released the track Ya Don't Stop.

On August 6, Mike WiLL Made-It dropped the music video for High3r featuring Weezy and Lil Yachty, where fans noticed Wayne had a diamond XO chain around his neck, gifted to him by Abel.

The Save Your Tears hitmaker later took to IG stories and shared a still photo of Weezy, while hyping him up for sporting the XO chain.

It is still unclear as to what extent Lil Wayne supports Drake, but from his latest move, it can be concluded for the time being that the two are in each other's good books.
