Rapper Diddy has recently been trending since his arrest on September 16 on allegations of pr*stitution transportation, s*x trafficking, and racketeering. Since the incident, netizens have been drawing parallels between the rapper and various works of pop culture, like The Simpsons, or Alvin and the Chipmunks.
A quote from the 2007 movie Alvin and the Chipmunks is currently making the rounds on the internet. During a particular scene in the film, just before Alvin and his brothers were about to perform on stage, Alvin pointed at his costume and said:
"This is absurd. I feel like P. Diddy with fur."
The reference connected Alvin's silver jacket to Combs' luxurious and flashy clothes, specifically a silver jacket that he has worn once. While Combs himself didn't appear in the movie, the line played on his persona, making it a pop-culture joke.

Furthermore, during a particular scene, while talking about their fame, one of Alvin's brothers, Simon, said:
"One day, you're throwing back pink lemonades on Diddy's yacht in Saint-Tropez… I miss it..."
The movie snippet was posted by an Instagram account, @therealdudja. Once the scene went viral, netizens took to Instagram to comment on the same. One netizen referred to the joke and said:
"This didn't age well."
Others also preached to the choir and left humorous comments under the video. Some said that the rapper left "generational content" for the memers, while others said that the makers of Alvin and the Chipmunks apparently have "Diddy reference" in all the movies.
Additionally, some talked about the "black guy" at the end of the video and said that they apparently know when something is wrong.
Alvin and the Chipmunks’ quote about Diddy goes viral
The Chipmunks first appeared in animated form in The Alvin Show in 1961. They have since appeared in many television shows, films, and other media. In 2019, the Chipmunks even received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Apart from referring to Diddy's clothes and the pink lemonade that Combs reportedly served while partying on his yacht, there were two other times when Combs was mentioned. In the 2007 film Alvin and the Chipmunks, one of the three chipmunks said:

In the same movie, it was later asked:

The rapper is currently at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. He is awaiting trial for allegedly conspiring to engage in racketeering and s*x trafficking. However, he pleaded not guilty to the accusations. The judge turned down Combs' bid for bail, and he will stay in detention pending his trial.
