Rihanna announced a limited edition collaboration between her lingerie brand Savage x Fenty and the Italian retail clothing company Diesel on October 8, 2024.
The collection, which dropped on the same day, marks Diesel’s first venture in lingerie design and has excited fashion enthusiasts and Rihanna’s fans. The collection blends the Italian brand's experience in denim design with Savage x Fenty’s trendsetting lingerie silhouettes.
For the promotional visuals, the Diamond crooner was dressed in some of the collection’s pieces, including a red monochrome set consisting of a corset and skirt and a blue denim jacket littered with fur. The nine-time Grammy Award winner also brought back her iconic red hair, which she complemented with nude makeup.
An X user reacted to the singer’s visuals,
“This is album cover material.”
Other fans complimented her looks on X, stating how the Diamonds singer always looks good in photoshoots.
“This needs to be framed,” a user said.
“Rihanna always knows how to slay in her photoshoots! I can only imagine how stunning she looks in the Savage x Fenty and Diesel collab. She’s such a fashion icon!” another fan commented.
“I don’t think she has ever done a photoshoot that wasn’t epic. Beyond how beautiful she is everything is always perfectly executed,” a fan stated.
Some fans expressed their desire for a new album from the superstar:
“We just want an album,” a netizen stated.
“Don’t make me think this is the album announcement girl,” an X user commented.
“Your Fenty empire is unstoppable! Are we ever getting that new album, or is Fenty the main focus now?” another user asked.
Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty x Diesel collaboration explored
According to an exclusive article in Elle Magazine, the creative director at Diesel, Glenn Martens, was excited about the collaboration with Savage x Fenty, as Riri has been a supporter of the brand.
Martens said:
"Rihanna has always reflected the Diesel woman: edged, opinionated, declarative, sexy. She was one of the first talents to support Diesel since my very first collection for the brand, so I am very proud to have had the opportunity to create something with her."
The creative director described the collection as a “perfect symbiotic relationship,” focusing on changing the status quo with a range of styles that foster inclusivity and individuality.
In a statement to Variety Magazine on October 8, 2024, Riri said that the collection was to make people "look good and feel good." The limited-edition capsule’s commercials featured models of varying ages, races, and body sizes in the Italian sun.
The collection includes fishnet strings, briefs and tank tops, suspender bustiers, Cuban stockings, and slip gowns. Each item in the capsule collection is embellished with a co-branded Diesel X Savage X Fenty logo. As per Diesel's online store, the collection price ranges from $39.95 to $99.95.
The collection is available at select Diesel and Savage X Fenty locations, as well as on the online retail websites of the two brands.
