Benzino has been trending on social media for some time after a video featuring him went viral. Notably, the rapper addressed his feud with Eminem, stating that he is willing to resolve the issues between them. The news comes after Eminem announced through a music video of his single Temporary on October 3, 2024, that his daughter Hailie Jade Mathers is pregnant.
A glimpse of Benzino's latest clip, which was originally posted by the television personality through Instagram on October 5, was obtained by The Jasmine Brand, where the Soul Train star told Eminem that the time has come they start enjoying their lives. He further stated:
"I truly want to congratulate him and his daughter and him on bring a grandfather. I'm not one yet. I'm sure that day will come, and I'll be proud just like he is."
Also known as Raymond Scott, he addressed the news of Hailie Jade Mathers' pregnancy, sending his best wishes by saying:
"The irony is that even though he said nobody wants to hear their grandpa rap, I still want to send a congratulations out to Eminem and his daughter Hailie on the news that she's about to give birth and he's about to be a granddad."
On the other hand, netizens took to the comments section of The Jasmine Brand's Instagram post to share their reactions, with most of them addressing the feud between Raymond and Eminem. Several users commented that they weren't even aware that the two were in a feud. One of them also wrote:
"This beef kinda one sided my guy. Em ain't thinking about you."
A section of the public praised Benzino for the words he said about Eminem. A user even described Raymond as "genuine" alongside others claiming that Eminem does not care about Raymond.
Benzino had previously addressed his desire to end the beef with Eminem
The beef dates back to 2002 during the release of the rapper's album, The Eminem Show. While the project received four mics from The Source magazine, Eminem expressed his dissatisfaction with the same, saying that Benzino, the outlet's co-founder, would never give five mics due to his race.
Eminem continued to target Source magazine on different occasions and while Benzino came backstage during a performance of Eminem in Puerto Rico, Eminem ignored Raymond completely.
Raymond later released a single titled Pull Your Skirt Up, targeting Eminem in the lyrics. He also addressed the rating towards Eminem's album by rapping:
"You was unsigned hype before you ever met Dre/ I birthed your little career, now you owe your life to Ray."
Following the release of another track by Raymond, titled, I Don't Wanna, Eminem replied with his singles that included Invasion, The Sauce, and Nail in the Coffin. Benzino also responded with songs like Better Lose Yourself, leading to criticism from Eminem's fans.
Back in February this year, Raymond addressed the dispute in an interview on the Drink Champs podcast and said:
"Eminem ain't no bad person. He belongs in Hip Hop. It's a big racist problem in America right now and Eminem could probably stop half of it. I don't have nothing against Eminem. That n*gga can rap. But I care about us more."
While Benzino congratulated Eminem on the latter's daughter's pregnancy, Eminem is yet to share a response to the same.
