Fans of hip-hop are buzzing with excitement as renowned producer Metro Boomin has officially confirmed a highly anticipated collaboration with rap superstar Young Thug on his upcoming album. On January 19, 2025, American record producer Metro Boomin announced via his Instagram story that he is currently working on Young Thug's upcoming album.

The announcement has sparked a wave of enthusiasm and anticipation across the internet, with many fans on X predicting the project will be a monumental success. One fan shared:

"this about to be a classic," a user on X commented.

Additionally, numerous users on X expressed their excitement for the upcoming album, indicating their satisfaction with the record producer's involvement. Some users also highlighted that the collaboration within the ATL brotherhood would bring a distinctive and impactful sound.

"Sh*t f*ck I AM MUSIC thug coming to save us with a new album 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥," a netizen on X commented.
"ATL brotherhood is different in hip hop," a user wrote.
"Incoming peak 🔥," another commented.

However, some users on X expressed disappointment, suggesting that Metro Boomin should refrain from announcing collaborations prematurely. They pointed out that he had previously mentioned potential collaborations with artists like Don Toliver and Lil Durk, which have yet to materialize.

"Metro needs to stop confirming collab projects that never got. He’s mentioned SM3, a project with Don Toliver, Durk, Jid, baby and now Thug," a netizen commented.
"We don’t want metro on that album mehn , blud is not him anymore," a second user wrote.
"Hope its better than business. It wasnt that good and then slime season 1+2 dropping on streaming and relistening really put it into perspective how different his highs and lows are," another wrote.
"nobody tryna hear that sh*t, he better get in his introspective bag and make a collab album with the alchemist," another netizen on X.

As of now, neither Metro Boomin nor Young Thug has responded to the online reactions.

On Sunday, January 19, 2024, Metro Boomin took to his Instagram account to announce a collaboration with rapper Young Thug, who is currently incarcerated under RICO charges. In the story, the record producer wrote:

"Don't believe everything you see online. Clout got the world in a chokehold. Back to working on @thuggerthugger1 album."

Metro’s warning about not believing everything online may stem from recent rumors of a feud with Drake. Speculation suggested that due to this alleged discord, and Young Thug's affiliation with Drake, a collaboration between Metro Boomin and Young Thug might not happen.

However, on October 18, 2024, Young Thug in a since-deleted tweet on X called all artists the brothers and emphasized the bond between them.

"@Drake @1future @MetroBoomin we all bruddas. Music aint the same without us collabin," Young wrote.

In a September 2024 interview with Forbes, Metro Boomin addressed the purported rivalry between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, as well as his relationships with both artists. He expressed that healthy competition is beneficial for the culture and harbored no animosity towards any artist.

"I feel like the competition is great for the game. Hip-Hop has always been a competitive genre. Even if just keeping it on music it’s not serious how everybody tries to make it. Also with Hip-Hop, there’s a lot of ego involved. You’re supposed to feel like you’re the best," Metro said.

The rapper further added:

"I have love and respect for all my collaborators. I just want to see everybody do their best and continue to help push this [hip hop] forward."

As of now, there is no confirmed release date for the new project, and neither Metro Boomin nor Young Thug has provided further details.
