Lil Baby is planning to bring out a new album in collaboration with Future. While the rapper has not revealed many details about the project, some reports suggests that Young Thug wants to join the album as well. This news has now grabbed a lot of attention on social media.
Lil Baby addressed the collaboration while appearing in an episode of the show It's A Day in the Life, which aired on July 8, 2025, on Spotify. Baby was speaking about his latest album WHAM when he started referring to his collaboration with Future and said:
"We and Future was working on a joint tape. We damn near got the joint tape done. Now [Young Thug] came home, he ain't going for that. He like, 'She-it.'"
Meanwhile, a video of Lil Baby's interview was shared by NFR Podcast on X (formerly Twitter) and netizens took to the comments section of the post to share their reactions to Young Thug possibly joining the collaborative project. One of them seemingly expressed excitement by writing:
"This could be the collab of the decade if Thug joins!"
Users were spotted advising on the artists they would like to see collaborating for the alleged new album, with another user addressing his expectations from the project. However, another person wrote that Thug should release solo albums now.
"Nah just give us Future and Thug bro", a user wrote on X.
"All three ain't been dropping not fire. Hopefully they can come up with something smh", one of the users stated.
"Thugga should drop his solo album first. I'm tired of these collabs for now", a reaction mentioned on X.
A few people stated that they would like to see a collaboration only between Young Thug and Future. A user, seemingly a fan of Thug, stated that they are ready to listen to new music from the artist.

Lil Baby revealed that Young Thug came to him with the idea of the collaboration album
As mentioned, Lil Baby has not disclosed a lot of details about the reported project with Future. However, he said during his latest conversation on It's A Day in the Life that Young Thug was the one who pitched the idea for the album at first while he was in prison. Baby further stated:
"He damn near named the tape and everything. This is before he got out. Now when he got out, he like 'Sh*t, I'm on the tape.' So, we might got something big in store for that."
Furthermore, Lil disclosed in the interview that he and Young Thug have worked on around 10 singles after Thug's release from prison in October last year. Notably, Thug was taken into custody in 2022 after being charged under the RICO Act, as per Complex.
On the other hand, Lil Baby's latest album WHAM received a positive response from critics and the audience. He has another album in the upcoming lineup, titled Dominique, and it is arriving next month, as per XXL Magazine.
