“Closing the door on this chapter of my life”- Kesha’s December 2023 statement revisited as she said goodbye to Dr Luke and his record label
The popular singer Kesha turned many heads after she announced in December 2023, that she would no longer be working with Dr Luke and his record label. As the duo had been associated since the last decade, she announced how the two settled out of court, as she released a statement on social media, stating:
“Only God knows what happened that night. As I have always said, I cannot recount everything that happened. I am looking forward to closing the door on this chapter in my life and beginning a new one. I wish nothing but peace to all parties involved.”
The entire fiasco took place when Kesha accused the music producer Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald AKA Dr Luke of “emotional distress” and stated that he often s*xually, physically, verbally, and emotionally abused her since the beginning of their professional relationship. She also filed a lawsuit, in which she exclaimed how the producer often drugged and r*ped her.
While Kesha filed the lawsuit in October 2014, the duo announced in June 2023, that they have “reached a settlement” out of court. At the time, Dr. Luke also issued a formal statement denying all the allegations, as he said:
“While I appreciate Kesha again acknowledging that she cannot recount what happened that night in 2005. I am absolutely certain that nothing happened. For the sake of my family, I have vigorously fought to clear my name for nearly 10 years. It is time for me to put this difficult matter behind me and move on with my life.”
On the other hand, Kesha is well known for her songs, like Tik Tok, My First Kiss, Blah Blah Blah, Your Love is My Drug, Die Young, Take It Off, We R Who We R, and Blow, among others.
