M.I.A. on Alex Jones’ Infowars podcast and other controversies

M.I.A., whose real name is Mathangi ‘Maya’ Arulpragasam, previously promoted her clothing line on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ Infowars podcast. While addressing a range of topics, the musician claimed that the clothes are allegedly designed to protect people from nanoparticles, which she dubbed “evil dust.”

This is not the first time the singer has raised eyebrows online. In 2022, she made headlines after comparing Jones’ false claims about the Sandy Hook Elementary School 2012 shooting to celebrities supposedly pushing COVID-19 vaccines.

M.I.A. claimed on X(formerly Twitter) that celebrities must “pay for lying,” similar to how Alex Jones was ordered to pay nearly 1 billion dollars in damages after falsely claiming that the shooting never happened.

While seemingly sharing her stance in 2022, M.I.A. claimed in a tweet that Jones was facing a penalty for sharing misinformation, unlike celebrities who were promoting the vaccine. She wrote in a tweet:

“Alex jones lying and Pfizer lying both trending. One with penalty and other without.”

The hip hop artist has often made headlines for her controversial stances. In 2012, she landed in hot waters after raising the middle finger during Madonna’s Super Bowl performance. This landed her in legal trouble with NFL.

She has also allegedly beefed with her Interscope label, the Grammys, and numerous other singers in the past.
