Taylor Swift hosted some of the families affected by the deadly Southport stabbing at one of her recent Eras Tour concerts at the Wembley Stadium in London in July.
One mom, Sami Foster, shared the experience on TikTok, where her two kids met with the Midnights singer backstage before her show. She shared a montage of backstage pictures with Swift and her girls, Hope and Autumn. In the caption, she quoted the part of the singer's Cardigan song, "You drew stars around my scars," and thanked Taylor Swift for "making the most magical night possible for all of us."
The 14-time Grammy winner released a statement shortly after the horrific Southpoint, UK attack, sharing his shock and sympathies for the victims and their families. As she concluded the European leg of her Eras Tour with five shows in London, her gesture of meeting with some of the victims and their families delighted a lot of her fans online. One fan on X wrote:
"This was very kind and uplifting. My prayers are with the families. Thank you Taylor Swift! Stay safe. You give many, especially our younger generation, much hope."
More fans praised Taylor Swift for the gesture she made.
"That is a great gesture," a fan said on X.
"Everyday I wonder why do I stan a person I've never met so much. Then this happens and I'm like Oh, that's why," another fan chimed in.
"This was a beautiful gesture, but heartbreaking and sad at the same time," a user on X wrote.
Other fans also love the idea that the Fifteen hitmaker met with the victims and their families without making it a media event or a whole publicity stunt.
That was such a sweet and kind thing to do. Look, she didn't have to announce it to the press first. Prayers for all the kids and families," an X user wrote.
"And didn't make it a media event. This is how you do it," another fan pointed out.
