American musician Dave Grohl recently shared that welcomed a baby daughter outside of his 23-year marriage. In an Instagram post, the Foo Fighters frontman explained that he plans to be "a loving and supportive parent" to his new kid. He also professed his love for his wife and children and promised to "regain their trust and earn their forgiveness."

Many fans of the 55-year-old rockstar have expressed disappointment over the news. One Reddit user commented about the trauma the news would bring to Grohl's daughters, who appear to now have deactivated their social media accounts.

"This makes me so sad for his daughters. His two oldest are always posting about him. Thankfully they seem to have deactivated their accounts which I imagine is the best thing to do right now," a Reddit user wrote.

More people shared their disappointment over Grohl straying away from his 23-year marriage and fathering a child out of wedlock.

Dave Grohl married his second wife, Jordyn Bloom, in 2003. They met at a whiskey bar in Hollywood. The rocker told Elle in 2007 that he ghosted Bloom after a couple of dates because he "wasn't ready for a serious relationship."

However, after three months and a "revelation," he called her back, and their relationship culminated in marriage. They have three children together—Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.

Before marrying Grohl, Blum was a producer for MTV. She has also directed Foo Fighter's 2002 music video for the song Walking the Line.

Ironically, the former Nirvana drummer has not been shy about espousing the importance of his family. He confessed to TIME in 2009 that he doesn't like being away from his family and said:

"I used to tour nine months out of the year. Now I don't like being away from my kids for more than 12 days."

The Foo Fighters rocker claimed that his family "changed everything" that he does and his kids helped him "see life through different eyes."
