Swedish DJ and music producer Alesso, who collaborated with Liam Payne for the April 2020 song Midnight, left fans emotional after sharing a visual tribute for the late 1D member onstage at the EDC Orlando over the weekend. Alesso shared the onstage moment on Instagram on November 11 with the caption, "A moment worth sharing."

“A couple of weeks ago, a very talented musician and human being and friend of mine passed away. And we did a song together a couple of years ago. His name was Liam Payne and I would like to play it tonight for you guys to honor him… Liam, we love you!” Alesso shared onstage.

He also urged the audience to turn their phone lights on in the hope that maybe Payne could hear and see them all.

As the song began to play in the background, an image of Liam Payne appeared on the screen behind Alesso with the words, “In Honor of Liam Payne, 8/29/1993 – 10/16/2024” written on it. As the crowd appeared nostalgic and raised their phones in honor of the recently deceased pop star, Alesso celebrated the song onstage.

The video of the tribute has now gone viral across social media platforms and has earned emotional reactions from fans of Liam Payne. For instance, Instagram user @samfeldt commented on Alesso’s post by writing:

Alesso previously paid tribute to Liam Payne on Instagram

On October 16, singer and songwriter Liam Payne of One Direction fame passed away after falling from the balcony of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31 years old at the time of his demise.

In the aftermath of his demise, tributes began pouring in, including from his former collaborator, Alesso. The Swedish DJ and producer took to Instagram the following day and shared a couple of pictures of Liam Payne and himself. He captioned it:

"Can’t believe you're gone, Liam. I'm grateful we got to create magic together on 'Midnight' and even more thankful for the friendship we had. We shared many laughs and great memories that I’ll carry with me always. Rest easy, my friend."

Alesso performed the sunset set on the final day of the three-day music festival called EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) in Orlando on Sunday, November 10. Like every year, the outdoor carnival was held at Tinker Field, which is right next to the Camping World Stadium.

More than 300,000 concertgoers attended it from Friday to Sunday. Over 140 artists from across the globe performed across five stages.
