American drummer Travis Barker recently visited incarcerated firefighters who have risked their lives to help contain and extinguish the LA wildfires. The Blink-182 artist was photographed at Pasadena's Rose Bowl Complex, where he met the firefighters and members of the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, a group of formerly incarcerated individuals who have advocated for criminal justice reform.
The California wildfires began on Tuesday, January 7, in the Palisades area of Los Angeles. They quickly spread across the city and caused unprecedented damage to life and property.
On his Instagram Stories, Travis Barker shared photos with the National Guard and firefighters from Growlersburg Conservation Camp #33. The camp is run by Cal Fire and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
“These guys are heroes. They are risking their lives to serve people. Save people. Help people. And becoming men in the process,” he wrote.

"I love the awareness that the Anti-Recidivism Coalition is bringing to the incarcerated guys working these fires. A lot of them came from the juvenile system and this program gives them the ability for real change and to make a difference. To see the humanity in all of them was amazing."
As per a report by NBC, the Palisades fire is 63% contained but has burned over 23,000 acres of land. The Eaton fire, meanwhile, has burned over 14,000 acres of land but has been 89% contained. In all, the fires have caused a total of 27 reported deaths and have burned over 12,000 structures to the ground.
"I genuinely really don't care"— When Travis Barker's daughter revealed that she would not vote
On October 9, 2024, Travis Barker's daughter, Alabama Barker, revealed in an Instagram Live that she would not vote in the 2024 United States Presidential Election. According to the 18-year-old, she wasn't "fully educated" to choose her preferred candidate.
She also opined that "not voting isn't crazy" and that she didn't care enough to cast her vote.
"Not voting isn't crazy in my opinion at all. Coz if I don't feel like I have the exact education for what I am voting for, how is it right for me to vote for something I am not completely educated on? I could educate myself but then again, why am I doing that if I genuinely really don't care?
"First of all, I just turned eighteen. I never voted before...If I don't wanna vote, I don't have to vote. And, If I don't wanna be in politics, I don't have to be in politics."
During her livestream, one Instagram user allegedly opined that her privilege is showing. However, Travis Barker's daughter defended her choice, saying:
"Like, what? Because I don't want to vote? I'm not educated on it. Maybe next year I'll vote."
Republican supremo Donald Trump won the 2024 United States Presidential Elections. According to an Associated Press report, Trump amassed 312 electoral votes, easily surpassing the favorable figure of 270.
Democratic representative Kamala Harris, meanwhile, ended the election with 226 electoral votes.
