Recent court documents acquired by In Touch revealed that legendary country singer Toby Keith named his wife and their 3 children the heirs to his fortune. He passed away on February 5, 2024, after struggling with stomach cancer, and is survived by his wife Tricia Covel, and their children, Shelley, Stelen, and Krystal.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Keith reportedly had an estimated net worth of $400 million at the time of his passing. His fortune was gained through his music career and other financial endeavors such as his restaurant chain, his alcohol brand, and his own record label, to name a few.
Toby Keith's wife, Tricia Covel, filed a motion to be named the administrator of his estate 15 days after his death. She also requested the court that the details of his assets not be revealed in public. As it would "likely increase the threat to the safety and security" of her family. Her attorney added:
"During his lifetime, Toby undertook numerous measures to keep his personal information and that of his family members hidden from the public including, but not limited to, having his home address and deed to his homestead sealed from the public record by court order."
He further added:
"using an alias name for himself, his wife and children, and engaging a personal security company to provide security for himself and that of his family members at all times of the day and night, week and year.”
A judge granted her request to keep the will sealed and the probate case is still ongoing at the time of writing this article.
