Rapper Plies continued to voice his dissatisfaction against Donald Trump, this time calling out his Black supporters after his appearance at Chicago's National Association of Black Journalists Convention on July 21, 2024.

The Republican nominee was embroiled in controversy after questioning Kamala Harris' racial identity in a panel with ABC News correspondent Rachel Scott, Semafor political reporter Kadia Goba, and Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner at the convention.

On August 1, Plies took to X to express his outrage at Trump's comments about Kamala Harris at the NABJ convention. He claimed that Trump felt like the election was "slipping away from him."

"Trump Is Feeling This Election Slipping Away From Him!! If It Gets To The Point He Feel He Cant Win He Will Ask For His Supporters To Burn It Down!!!" Plies tweeted.

In the next tweet, Plies berated journalists who were asking Black people to defend Trump.

Plies claimed Trump's behavior at the NABJ shows his true feelings about Black people

Plies has always been vocal about his dislike for Donald Trump. On August 1, he went on Instagram to continue the conversation, questioning Black people who were still supporting Trump after his appearance at the convention.

“I’m just trying to muthaf***in see why everybody’s so goddamn quiet. Where are all the goddamn people at? The Trump for Black folks? Where the f*** is y’all? ‘Cause somebody needs to kick y’all right in y’all smelly a**es, right muthaf***in now. All of a sudden today, y’all are so muthaf***in quiet today,” he said.

Plies added that Trump's display at the NABJ convention cemented how he truly felt about Black people.

In a follow-up video, Plies claimed that Trump hated being in the position of having to ask Black people for anything, adding the former President never needed Black people in his life. He also insinuated that Trump "despised" Black people, emphasizing how he pronounced the word "black" like it was "a disease."

Plies has also defended Vice President Kamala Harris on multiple occasions, hitting back against the rhetoric of whether the US was ready for a Black woman to be the President.

A recap of Donald Trump's most controversial moments at the NABJ convention

Donald Trump's appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention was marred with controversy. Moderator Rachel Scott started the panel by bringing up several instances of Trump using words like "rabid" and "animal" to describe Black people, asking why Black voters should cast their vote for him despite his behavior towards their community.

Following this, Trump called Scott "rude" and "hostile," adding her question was "disgraceful." He also called himself "the best president for the Black population since Abraham Lincoln."

When Scott asked whether he believed Harris was on the ticket as a DEI hire, he responded, "I really don’t know, could be, could be." The former President questioned Kamala Harris's racial identity, claiming she had identified as an Indian for several years before identifying as a Black woman.

“She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now, she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?" Trump said.

Harris is Indian on her mother's side and Jamaican on her father's side.

Trump also refused to comment on Sonya Massey's shooting, claiming he didn't know much about the exact case. Massey was a Black woman who was shot and killed in her Illinois home by a police officer on July 6, 2024.
