"Tryna cast them for his next film" — Internet reacts to Tyler Perry showering cash on twerking dancer at Usher concert

Tyler Perry attended Usher's 'Past Present Future Tour' show in Atlanta on October 20. Social media videos showed him playfully showering a dancer with Usher Bucks while she was twerking on stage. In the clip, Perry approached the dancer, placed the fake currency on the ground near her, and then tapped her on the shoulder.

The dancer gave him a wide grin when she noticed him, and the actor can be seen moving away from the stage, seemingly saying, "I'm out, I'm out." This interaction was noticed by Usher, who strode down and called Perry back to the stage, before handing him more Usher Bucks to spend during the show.

The video snippet, which went viral on social media, was met with hilarious responses. One person claimed Tyler Perry was scouting talent for his next movie, tweeting:

Many joked that Tyler Perry looked ready to "risk it all," while others made references to his popular character Madea.

Several people commented on Tyler Perry's seemingly polite demeanor when interacting with the dancer.

Tyler Perry's upcoming movie will be released in December

Tyler Perry's upcoming movie, The Six Triple Eight, will reportedly be released on December 6 in select theatres before making its Netflix debut on December 20. The war drama, starring Kerry Washington, will focus on the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion comprised of Black women in World War II.

On October 11, Netflix released the teaser trailer for the film, written and directed by Perry based on "Fighting A Two-Front War", an article by Kevin M. Hymel. Other cast members include Oprah Winfrey, Ebony Obsidian, Sam Waterson and Susan Sarandon, among others.

Tyler Perry released another movie on Netflix recently. Mea Culpa, a legal thriller flick written, directed, and produced by Perry, and starring Kelly Rowland as a defense attorney, premiered on the streaming giant in February 2024.

Netflix is also set to produce Tyler Perry's latest outing as Madea in Madea’s Destination Wedding, the 13th in the franchise. The movie reportedly began filming in 2024 and is set for release in 2025. This installment marked the second Madea movie to be produced by Netflix, following A Madea Homecoming in 2022.
