Sabrina Carpenter has become the face of a new drink launched by Dunkin' Donuts called Sabrina's Brown Sugar Shakin' Espresso. The drink is now available nationwide, starting from New Year's Eve, i.e., December 31, 2024.

Dunkin' Donuts posted a picture of the newly launched drink and its commercial on its Instagram account on December 30 and 31 respectively. The Grammy-nominated songstress featured in the 30-second video commercial for Sabrina's Brown Sugar Shakin' Espresso. The video was also posted on the brand's YouTube channel.

In the ad, Sabrina can be seen delivering the dialogue:

“I just love shaking that ess’.”

She says that she's been shaking the bottle for hours as more people join the songstress. Even her grandmother is seen shaking that bottle while she mentions:

“No one shakes that ‘ess like Gam Gam!”

In the end, the 25-year-old drops the punchline:

“Oh! ‘Shake that ess” kind of sounds like, ‘Shake that a**!'”

Sabrina Carpenter isn't the first pop icon to have teamed up with Dunkin' Donuts. In 2023, Bronx rapper Ice Spice joined forces with the brand to release her custom Munchkins drink. Moreover, Jelly Roll celebrated National Donut Day in collaboration with this American brand and revealed that his stage name was inspired by jelly donuts.

In June 2024, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream announced their partnership with pop icon Sabrina Carpenter to launch their 'Espresso' ice creams. The ice cream was inspired by the lyrics of her chart-topping hit Espresso, which was released in April 2024. The flavor contained notes of espresso, chewy brownies, fudge and chocolate chips. It was made available in Van Leeuwen shops across the country from June 28.

Belonging to her sixth studio album Short n'Sweet (2024), the song marked Carpenter's entry into the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number three. The song was certified Platinum or higher in fourteen countries and earned her accolades like the MTV Video Music Award for Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.

According to Van Leeuwen, half the profits from their collaboration were donated to the Ali Forney Center, an organization working to protect LGBTQIA+ youth and provide them with shelters.

“Doing a flavor collab with a genuine Van Leeuwen super fan is always a lot of fun. We’re so excited to celebrate Sabrina and her newest hit with this extremely delicious ice cream,” commented Van Leeuwen co-founder and CEO Ben Van Leeuwen in a news release.

Sabrina Carpenter was once accused of black fetishization over her 'BBC' comment

On May 30, 2024, Sabrina Carpenter appeared on BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend 2024 in Luton, England. At the event, she performed a live rendition of her song Nonsense and addressed the audience, ad-libbing:

"BBC said I should keep it PG/BBC I wish I had it in me/There's a double meaning if you dig deep."

Complex reported that Sabrina's performance divided netizens over allegedly using the term BBC in a s*xual context. While some fans liked the singer's NSFW spin on the acronym, others accused the songstress of black fetishization.

It was not the first time Sabrina Carpenter created a s*xual innuendo out of the acronym. She reportedly put the same adult spin on the abbreviation during her performance at a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge Session in February 2023.

While performing the song Nonsense, she sang:

"I'm American, I am not British / So BBC, it stands for something different."

BBC initially released an uncut version of the performance on their social media sites. However, they quickly took it down and uploaded an edited version of the same with the lines censored out.
