Natalie Portman recently spoke about her interaction with Rihanna and the effect of the latter’s uplifting words on her as she went through a divorce from her former husband Benjamin Millepied. The Black Swan star shed light on the same during her guest appearance on the Monday, July 15 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Portman, who finalized her divorce from her husband of 11 years in February, mentioned that meeting the singer during Paris Fashion Week was an "amazing experience."
“I think every woman going through a divorce should get to have Rihanna say to her that she's a bad b**ch,” she said.
Jimmy Fallon then stood and clapped for the actress while agreeing with her and then screened a clip of the interaction at Fashion Week.
“It was exactly what I needed. It was a formative moment in my life,” Portman added.
A clip from the episode was uploaded on the show’s YouTube channel and netizens admired the interaction between the two stars.
“I am so glad that Rihanna was able to be a light in the darkness for Natalie Portman. Two lovely women lifting each other up is always so nice to see,” one internet user said.
Some fans praised Rihanna and called her "fabulous and hilarious."

The Hollywood actress and popular artist met during the Dior Haute Couture show at Paris Fashion Week in January 2024.
A clip of their interaction soon went viral online and it featured the Umbrella hitmaker and Natalie Portman hugging and showering each other with compliments.
“I am a f***ing fan. You are one of the hottest b**ches in Hollywood, forever," Rihanna said.
The We Found Love singer continued to praise the actress and mentioned she usually does not "get excited about anybody."
“I’m gonna faint. I’m gonna black out,” Natalie Portman responded.
Portman also told the Diamonds singer that she loved her music and called her a "queen."
The May December actress later shared a photo of the duo hugging each other on her Instagram page and captioned the post:

Natalie Portman is set to star in the upcoming mini-series Lady in the Lake. The title is scheduled to premiere on July 19, 2024, on Apple TV+.
