“Very ignorant of him”— 50 Cent receives backlash for his reaction to Michael Rainey Jr.’s alleged live stream assault

Michael Rainey Jr. became a topic of discussion on social media after he was reportedly groped by TyTy James's sister in a live-streaming video. While netizens shared different reactions to the moment, 50 Cent shared an Instagram post on June 10, 2024, which led to a lot of criticism.

The rapper referred to Michael Rainey Jr.'s alleged groping moment on the post, which has been deleted now, and wrote:

"Wait s*xual assault from a male perspective this was an aggressive advance. Lol he's fine no charges are being pressed."

The deleted post soon went viral on different platforms and the public reacted angrily since 50 Cent shared a funny reaction to the entire incident. One of them also wrote:

"50 cent coming out and basically saying Micheal did not get SA is very ignorant of him."

A few other people also expressed their surprise towards 50 Cent's post.

"50 too comfortable tolerating it I think he might have a weird case we don'y know about based off his response," a user wrote.
"Why did he even feel like that was appropriate to say? Too damn old", another user wrote.
"I hate n*ggas like this. He was literally s*xually assaulted and he's not taking this sh*t serious", a third user wrote.

The criticism continued with other people sharing similar reactions.

"This is so embarrassing", a user mentioned.
"50 cent is saying all of this what if it was his young son???", another user mentioned.

Michael Rainey Jr. speaks up on the groping moment: Statement and other details explained

Michael Rainey Jr.'s alleged groping moment was captured in a Twitch live video of TyTy James on Sunday, June 9. The actor seemingly appeared uncomfortable at the time and recently shared a statement in response on Instagram Story.

He said that he was unable to process everything that happened. He continued by describing it as "an unfortunate situation" and added:

"I can't take it lightly because I know I would be in serious trouble if the roles were reversed. The fact is, s*xual assault is never okay, regardless of gender or status. We're all human, and we should respect each other. Most importantly, we should always respect ourselves."

One of Michael Rainey Jr.'s representatives also spoke to People magazine on June 10, saying that these kinds of acts are unacceptable. The representative also said:

"Taking advantage of someone's celebrity in this manner devalues entertainers and underscores the need to respect their humanity. Those who entertain us are human beings just like everyone else."

TyTy James said in a video message after the incident that he won't say anything bad about his sister. He also mentioned:

"I'm just gonna check her and tell her, 'You ain't gotta be on that. We all the same. We all human."
