Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign's collaboration album Vultures 2 has been delayed twice until now. While the release date for the album, which is a part of a planned trilogy, remains unknown for now, the album's listening party is coming to Taiwan on August 25, 2024.
Notably, the listening parties, which are a part of the album's promotions, have been already organized at places such as Nashville and Washington D.C., increasing anticipation among the fans. Ty Dolla announced the arrival of the listening party in Taiwan through Instagram with a post that reads:
"Vultures Listening Experience Taiwan 08 25 24."
The project was expected to come out on March 8, 2024, and the first album in the trilogy created headlines since it was Kanye West's major release after being involved in controversies emerging from his antisemitic statements in 2022.
Considering that the first entry was commercially successful, fans are eagerly waiting for Vultures 2. Meanwhile, the announcement of the listening party in Taiwan also grabbed a lot of public attention and netizens took to the comments section of Ty Dolla's Instagram post to share their reactions, with most of them demanding the duo to release the album at first.
One of them wrote:
"Watch them delay it more."
A few people questioned the release date of the album, and one of them asked if the project was arriving on May 3, 2025. Others expressed their excitement since the listening party seemingly hinted that Vultures 2 might be released soon.
Vultures 2 has witnessed a few delays since March this year
As mentioned, the second entry in the trilogy was not released on March 8, 2024. While Kanye West and Ty Dolla did not share any statement about the delay at the time, it was followed by another delay in May this year, and netizens took to social media platforms to express their criticism.
The second release date of May 3, 2024, was first announced by Kanye West the previous month as he appeared for an interview on the podcast The Download.
When the first delay happened with the release of Vultures 2, fan account @yefanatics took to their official page on X (formerly Twitter) to post a few screenshots where they had a conversation with Kanye West. The post also referred to the messages by saying:
"It does not confirm or deny the release date of the album. Can we see it today or in a few days?"
The songs from Vultures 2 were teased through Instagram and TikTok from March 2024. The singles were not released via streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music, leaving the fans of both the rappers disappointed. On the other hand, Ty Dolla confirmed on a Kick livestream in May that Vultures 2 would be released through an app.
West initially revealed the release dates of the trilogy in January this year with a video trailer through Instagram. The post was later deleted, and it had glimpses of a burning house and wolves alongside people wearing black cloaks. The trailer suggested that the first entry would be released on February 9, followed by the other two, which were supposed to be released on March 8 and April 5.
The title track of Vultures 1 came out in November 2023 and a live version of the album was performed during a listening party in Miami the same year. The second album would also feature guest appearances by artists such as Young Thug, Future, Kodak Black, and Charlie Wilson.
