Rumors about celebrities using Ozempic to lose weight have been swirling for a while now, and Ice Spice, another victim, took to X to clear the air. The 24-year-old attributed her new body to her workout regimen and posted a video of it to prove it. Ozempic is an FDA-approved prescription drug that helps Type 2 diabetes but is more famously known for inducing weight loss.
She shared the video on her official X account on August 30, 2024, and clad in an all-black gym outfit, she can be seen doing cardio training, weight lifting, and strength training exercises. The caption of the video was a direct response to the rumors,
"We beatin them allegations bae."
Ice Spice says she wishes no one "learned the word Ozempic"
On August 19, the singer-rapper engaged in an X Spaces chat, where she vented her frustrations, saying,
"I wish y'all never learned the word Ozempic. That's one thing I wish. Oh my God, like, what even is Ozempic? What the f*** is that? Genuinely, what is that?"
The Princess Diana rapper then made it succinct that her toned physique was just the result of being on tour, hitting the gym, eating healthy, and nothing shady.
"What the hell? Maybe if I was sitting at home all f***ing day, it’d be easier to stay big."
Fans' love and support came pouring in within no time, with many saying she does look better now. "Cook them bae," one user cheered, while another tweeted, "I never doubted you bae." Another chimed in, "How many times do you gym a week? You’re toned af."
This isn't the first time Ice Spice has proven her dedication to fitness, though, as in July 2024, she wielded the help of Instagram to show fans what she's been up to. She posted photos of herself at the gym, with a hot pink onesie donned on. She also posted an image of the elliptical machine she used, with visible sweat marks on the seating cushion.
From Ice Spice to Khloé Kardashian, no one left unscathed
However, when someone thinks of Ozempic, Ice Spice's name is not the first to come up. Several celebrities have been hit with these allegations, including Oprah Winfrey, Ashley Benson, Kylie Jenner, and Khloé Kardashian, among others. Many of them shut the rumors down, such as when, in June 2024, Benson took to her IG stories to tell off those accusing her. She said,
“I know a lot of people take ozempic and that's totally fine. To each their own. But don't discredit people who also work very hard to get their body back like I've done with mine.”
In January 2024, one fan accused Khloé Kardashian of taking the easy way out, to which she replied,
“Let’s not discredit my years of working out. I get up five days a week at 6am to train. Please stop with your assumptions. I guess new year still means mean people.”
Ice Spice is currently on the road for her Y2K! World Tour, and he made her way to L.A.’s Hollywood Palladium on August 19, 2024, to perform. It began in July 2024 and will see the singer perform in Denmark, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the U.S., among others. Her setlist will include Princess Diana, Munch (Feelin' U), and Boy's a Liar (Pt.2).
