Katy Perry posted a tweet on Thursday, December 19, 2024, where she seemingly teased a deluxe edition of her seventh studio album 143, which was officially dropped on September 20, 2024. Perry wrote:

"The metamorphosis is complete 1432 🦋."

The tweet soon went viral and received more than 740k views as well as over 10k likes within just two hours since its release.

Netizens flooded X with their reactions to the possible deluxe version of the album. Many disapproved of the possibility, especially if Dr. Luke would be associated with the project. One user wrote:

"We don't want it if it's still produced by Dr. Luke."

Another user tweeted:

"Have we not suffered enough omg!"
"Didn’t know she droped an album," added a tweet.
"Nobody asked for ts we aint even listen to the first one," mentioned another netizen.

While many users were skeptical about a deluxe edition of Katy Perry's last album, others seemed quite excited if that happened. A fan commented:

"Wow it means new vision will be more stunning now🔥🔥."
"My heart ❤️💖❤️goes to Katy Perry," read a tweet.
"For those who do not like it, just stay silent. Your opinions are only ruining our mood. We are very excited and looking forward to it," shared another fan.

The Roar singer received scrutiny over the Woman's World, which is also the lead song of her latest album 143. Thus, many netizens didn't seem quite excited when Perry seemingly hinted at a deluxe version of the album.

Katy Perry's 143 was criticized by fans and critics

It wasn't just the audience who criticized Katy Perry's latest album. Several critics, as reported by The Mirror, also gave similar reviews. Associated Press' music critic, Mark Kennedy said:

"Katy Perry’s new album title, '143,1 is code for 'I love you,' based on the number of letters in each word of the phrase. She may love us, but the album is more like 144 — 'I made mush.'"

Kennedy further reviewed the lead single of the album, and described it as a "sloppy, puzzling attempt at satire." He added that the album was as "lackluster" as Katy Perry's previous album Smile was.

Katy received bashing after she released Woman's World, the reason behind which was the fact that Dr. Luke was associated with the project. Netizens had mixed reactions with Dr. Luke being a part of the song after he was accused of s*xual harassment by singer Kesha.

The album debuted at sixth rank on the US Billboard 200 chart. It secured high ranks on several charts of other countries including Austria, Belgium, Canada, New Zealand, Poland, Sweden, and Scotland, to name a few.

As for the latest tweet by Katy, while fans are speculating that there could be deluxe edition of her seventh album, she has not officially confirmed anything as of now.
