Quavious Keyate Marshall, also known as Quavo, recently shared an update on his relationship with fellow rapper Offset. On Thursday, September 5, 2024, the 33-year-old rapper took to his Instagram stories to write:
''Good Convo With My Bro (link emoji praying emoji) @offsetyrn"
For the unversed, the Workin Me hitmaker and Offset were part of the hip-hop group Migos, with the latter's late nephew Takeoff. However, the former bandmates are rumored to have had a frictional relationship since the 2023 Grammy Awards.
As news of the pair talking to each other spread, internet users were quick to react. One stated:
"Good. We need y'all. We done already lost too much of our childhood."
Many expressed joy at the two Atlanta rappers talking, stating they are "stronger together." Some shared that they were excited about new music from them. Here are some comments seen under @theshaderoom's post on Instagram:
Others brought up Takeoff, who passed away on November 1, 2022, and Rich Homie Quan, who passed away on September 5, 2024, to note that life is too short to hold grudges.
"We Real Brothers" — Offset shuts down rumors of beef with Quavo
In February 2023, reports of a feud between Quavo (Quavious Keyate Marshall) and Offset (also known as Kiari Kendrell Cephus) surfaced. Per the rumors, the pair got into an altercation during the Grammy Awards shortly before Quavo's Takeoff tribute performance. Per some reports, Marshall blocked Cephus from taking the stage despite the Grammy's asking for him.
While Marshall has not responded to the claims, the Ric Flair Drip hitmaker has denied beefing with his former Migos mate. In February 2023, the rapper took to his X to shut down the claims, writing:
"What tf look like fighting my brother yal n*ggas is crazy."
Last October, during his interview with the Breakfast Club, Cephus explained:
"That's my brother at the end of the day. We're good, though, bro. We were just with each other in Paris. We be talking because we be going through emotions and sh*t with this sh*t."
During his appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast in March, Offset denied the rumors. When asked to address his relationship with the Rocket Power rapper, he told hosts Gillie Da Kid and Wallo that he doesn't feel the need to show people how much he and Marshall love each other.
He explained that they both lost Takeoff, which was difficult for them. He added that people have tried to turn them against each other. Asking people to mind their own business, he stated:
"I still go through sh*t, I know bro go through sh*t. N*ggas love each other though, at the end of the day. We men, we real brothers, and we cool with it, so be cool with it. Don't ever try and turn us against each other. I hate that sh*t. At the end of the day, it ain't your business."
Offset has yet to react to the news.
