Frank Ocean's recent social media update has fans speculating that he might release a new project. The singer posted a picture through his Instagram Story on July 30, 2024, where he could be spotted playing a guitar. The photo is no longer available as of now.

However, a few social media users managed to obtain the picture before it was deleted which has led to a lot of excitement among the public. While Ocean did not write anything along with the picture, it featured him wearing a hoodie alongside cargo shorts.

Although Frank Ocean has yet to release a big project after Blonde in 2016, he performed at the Coachella in April last year. However, he had to cancel his performance on the second weekend due to a leg injury. His representative also confirmed the same at the time, saying that he had two fractures alongside a sprain in the left leg.

Meanwhile, netizens took to the comments section of a post shared by the NFR Podcast through their official page on X (formerly Twitter). One of the reactions read:

"Oh good, We'll have a new album by 2043."

Others addressed the fact that the album might not arrive so soon.

Frank Ocean and Michael Uzowuru reportedly working on new music

Frank Ocean's fans have been eagerly waiting for a new album for the last eight years. While his latest Instagram Story doesn't clearly specify that he was working on a possible project, record producer Michael Uzowuru disclosed a few details during an interview with The New York Times on July 19, 2024.

Notably, Ocean and Uzowuru share a close relationship since they have collaborated on different projects in the last few years. Although The New York Times did not reveal any title or release date of the album, it simply stated that Frank and Michael were "working on new music together in Miami."

Frank also addressed his friendship with Michael while speaking to the outlet and said:

"Michael is a friend I talk to about where I'm at artistically very often."

Ocean further stated:

"Me and Michael's careers exist post Hip Hop – that genre, that culture, informs both of us greatly. But his appetite has grown; his vocabulary, musically, has grown so much over the time that I've known him."

Furthermore, Michael Uzowuru praised Frank Ocean by saying that he is grateful to the latter "as a person outside the work." Michael added that his bond with Frank is different from everyone else and calls him a family member.

Frank's second studio album Blonde came out in 2016 and included 17 songs in the soundtrack. The album reached the first spot on the US Billboard 200 and Uzowuru served as a producer alongside many others.
