Ray J has recently opened up about Diddy's arrest as he appeared on the show Cuomo alongside Angelica Nwandu, the founder of The Shade Room. Notably, the rapper was accused of s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution on September 16.
Ray J's response comes after Ariel Mitchell-Kidd, an attorney of one of the rapper's alleged victims, claimed that Diddy appeared in a video, which was seemingly p*rnographic. Ariel made the claims while appearing on Banfield on NewsNation on September 28, 2024.
In Ray's latest interview, he addressed the claims of the p*rn video by saying:
"I've been around long enough to know that you know when there is smoke, you will always find fire."
He referred to the fact that more celebrities are expected to be exposed in the upcoming days on their association with Diddy and said:
"I think that we'll be seeing a lot of these things. We'll be seeing a lot of celebrities, we'll be seeing a lot of people in power either step down or be exposed. And I think that's just where we are in this game. You know I think a lot of people have a very long success story at times and sometimes that fall is harder."
Ray J stated that anyone is innocent until proven guilty but they have no idea what they could do to save themselves. He added that the same people are not well aware of the path they should take so that such incidents are not repeated.
Ray J had previously responded to Diddy's arrest on another occasion
Also known as William Ray Norwood Jr., he appeared on Cuomo around four days after Diddy's arrest on September 20, 2024, speaking up on the impact of the rapper's legal issue in the musical world. He said at the time:
"We've all been around him, at least in my era, and have looked up to him. And this situation is super unfortunate, but it's important to learn a lesson right now and ensure the next generation understands how to move differently with transparency and integrity."
Ray J also mentioned that artists should be supported in such situations, adding that the music industry has hardly reacted to the arrest since most of them are shocked by everything that happened. Ray explained the same by saying:
"A lot of people are dealing with it in their own way."
On the other hand, Ray J even admitted that he participated in Diddy's parties on different occasions. However, he clarified that he never witnessed the artist getting involved in any kind of criminal activities, including the alleged s*x events called Freak-Offs, on any occasion.
As mentioned, an attorney of one of Diddy's alleged victims spoke on Banfield about a p*rn tape where he appeared. Ariel Mitchell-Kidd said that she was contacted by an anonymous individual about the video, asking her to get in touch with the person who appeared in the clip. Ariel continued:
"I can tell the video was p*rnographic in nature. … This was in his Atlanta home, and it does seem the person isn't looking into the video. To me, it doesn't seem like that person knows they're being videotaped."
While Diddy would be presented at the court on October 9, 2024, he has made some changes to his legal team with the addition of attorneys Anthony Ricco and Alexandra Shapiro. The latter has applied a notice of intent to appeal for his release on September 30. Further updates on the same are currently awaited.
