Ice Spice talked about the status of her love life in the latest Rolling Stone cover story, published on Thursday, July 25. The Bronx native confirmed that she's single, ending rumors that she's dating the UK rapper Central Cee.
The rap star opened up about her close relationship with the British rapper, but it's strictly platonic. Talking about their friendship,
"We've been friends since Munch came out, honestly. We're just twins," she also noted.
Dating rumors between Ice Spice and Central Cee first appeared early in June when the two were photographed hanging out and shopping in London. The photos and videos started circulating online just days before the duo released their collaborative track Did It First, part of the American rapper's debut album Y2K!
The music video, where the two of them starred as lovers, only fueled the romance rumors.
Ice Spice feels like she "won the lottery" as she prepares for her debut album release
As the American rapper celebrates her debut album coming out, she admitted to feeling like she won at life with the trajectory of her music career. She talked about her stardom in a recent feature with Rolling Stone, saying:
"There's people out here wanting to win the lottery, and I feel like I won the lottery."
Whenever she thinks about her success, Ice Spice mentioned how it humbles her and makes her feel so grateful for everything. She also had a response for haters and negative people— she doesn't "give a sh*t." The rapper noted that she's "grateful" for the people who hate on her, because they are still, in a way, supporting her.
The Munch rapper is ready to drop her debut album, her first full-length, titled Y2K!, on Friday, July 26, so it should be ready for streaming on Apple Music and all other digital service providers as early as Thursday, July 25, evening.
The Y2K! tracklist includes ten songs, including Did It First with Central Cee, their joint single that they performed live for the first time during the Wireless Festival in London on July 12. The duo went onstage together as part of Ice Spice's Y2K! World Tour, which kicked off on July 24 in Denmark.
Spice also worked with other musical artists for her debut album, including Travis Scott for the second track titled Oh Shhh... and Gunna for the song B*tch I'm Packin'. Other Ice Spice songs in the album include Gimmie a Light— the single she released on May 10, with the music video dropping the day after. Ice Spice also previously released Think U The Sh*t (F*rt) early this year.
She also talked about other musical inspirations she has and admitted that she's hoping to one day have a chance to work on some music with Drake.
