With Chris Brown’s documentary on the verge of release, his long-time producer, RoccStar spoke to TMZ and alleged that Investigation Discovery is painting the singer in a negative light. RoccStar said of Chris Brown:
"I don't understand. He's probably one of the nicest, coolest dudes. That's like one of my closest friends. I felt the singer was being victimized by his accusers. I just realized that the documentary wasn't a positive doc. I'm lost... We're trying to go find victims now? I think that's unbelievable.”
Furthermore, RoccStar also called Chris Brown a “family man,” and “one of the most successful artists of his generation.” He then stated how “people are just trying to bring him down,” as he continued:
"He's talented, man. Let him live. Let him do his thing... Now he's the victim."
The documentary titled, Chris Brown: A History of Violence will premiere on Investigation Discovery on October 27, 2024. Furthermore, the documentary is a part of the network’s “No Excuse for Abuse” campaign.
Chris Brown: A History of Violence will also feature the story of an anonymous woman who is allegedly the newest victim claiming to be abused by the singer
Chris Brown: A History of Violence, a documentary showcasing the many legal battles of the singer related to his abuse, is all set to release this month. As per People Magazine, the documentary will also feature the story of a new accuser who has decided to come forward. However, her identity remains undisclosed.
The producers of the documentary also released a statement about Chris Brown: A History of Violence and said:
“With expert and cultural commentary layered throughout, the documentary provides thoughtful reflections into each survivor’s experience and the psychological destruction in the aftermath of their abuse.”
Furthermore, it is also worth noting that RoccStar has always been supportive of Chris, as he also spoke highly of him during his interview with AllHipHop in February 2024. At the time, the producer said:
“CB don’t really mess with people too hard. The fact that he trusted me to come in and make sure the frequency was tuned to where he’s going, in life and with tech, with different things."
They have been working together for the last decade, as they released Chris' 2014 album X, and later worked on other albums like Indigo, in 2019, Breezy in 2022 and 11:11 in 2023.
