Cardi B recently got candid about the future of her marriage to her estranged husband Offset over five months after they called it quits in December 2023. The Bodak Yellow rapper confirmed the split via Instagram Live, where she told fans that she had been “single for a minute.”
While the two were spotted getting cozy on New Year’s Eve, Cardi B later clarified on X that they were just “vibing” with no talks of reconciliation. More recently, in an interview with Rolling Stone, published Thursday, October 16, the 31-year-old opened up about the status of her marriage.
“We have our own bad stuff. We’re from two different worlds. Sometimes I cannot be…not that I cannot be a wife. It’s just like, my career takes my life.”
On her priorities, the Grammy Award-winning further stated:
“My career comes first, then my kids come second. And then sometimes I don’t realize that I’m putting so many things before my relationship.”
Cardi admitted that, with her career and the kids on top of her priorities list, plus the little things she has to take care of, there’s little time she has for romance. The couple share a daughter Kulture, 5, and son Wave, 2. The _ rapper further stated:
“I sometimes feel like I do probably put my relationship last.”
“We think it though” — Cardi B shares the future of her marriage with Offset
Cardi didn't have a definite answer when asked about what she had decided for her and Offset’s relationship with Rolling Stone, which has been on again-off again since they met and married in 2017.
Talking about the path she sees their marriage going down, the Wap rapper told Rolling Stone that “it’s not even about love” at this point in their relationship. She said:
“I think it through. We think it through, because we do love each other. It’s not even about love. We’re best friends.”

Elaborating on the status of their relationship, Cardi further noted:
“And it’s like ‘OK. Well, there was a time that I didn’t have a best friend, or I didn't have a support system.’ It’s not even about ‘How do you leave a partner?’ How do you stop talking to your best friend?”
While the couple have not decided to reconcile, they also weren’t able to stay away from each other. The Love & Hip Hop New York alums put on a united front during the 2024 Met Gala afterparties.
While Offset was not at the red carpet event, where Cardi B turned up in a bold black gown by Sensen Lii, they were seen together, hand in hand, attending several afterparties in New York, including the Revolve and FRWRD afterparty Cardi B hosted at Silencio.
