Earlier today, Uncle Luke uploaded an Instagram video in which he called out the Hispanic community for supporting Donald Trump in the recent presidential election.

The Scarred rapper, who has been a vocal Kamala Harris supporter throughout the election campaign, expressed his shock at the Hispanics voting for the 78-year-old in the elections, which led to the Republican candidate's victory in the election. He said in his video:

"We thought y'all were our friends. Y'all go through some things, we be out there fighting and marching and s***... and then you do this, oh my God."

According to a Reuters report published on November 7, 2024, the presidential election witnessed a 14% boost in the Hispanic Trump voters from the 2020 elections.

Uncle Luke brought up Trump's mass deportation plan in his video

Elsewhere in his Instagram video, Uncle Luke also brought up Donald Trump's mass deportation plans, which he believed would allegedly affect the Hispanic community in the near future.

The Raise The Roof rapper added:

"All y’all who didn’t vote for Kamala, y’all stupid a** gon’ get deported. Y’all having marches and s*** already. We are not going out there to march. Black people are not going to march for you. I’m sorry, we will not be marching. It’s no more such thing as Black and brown people. It’s Black. We will not be marching with you."

Uncle Luke's claims are grounded in the 78-year-old's past actions as president of the country. According to TIME magazine, the 78-year-old curtailed the use of Temporary Protected Status in his first term. In 2017, he also delayed the release of relief funds for the Puerto Ricans following Hurricane Maria.

Trump has also pledged to stage the largest deportation operation in US history once he returns to the White House, which could affect millions of families in mixed-status homes, including the Hispanic communities.

Trump's share of Hispanic voters was the highest for a Republican presidential candidate since the 1970s

According to the Reuters article, the Hispanic community has had a decade-long history of favoring Democrats over Republicans—a trend that was broken in the 2024 presidential election.

Over 46% of self-identified Hispanic voters picked the former president over Kamala Harris in the election this year, which was marked as the highest share of Hispanic votes received by a Republican presidential candidate since the 1970s. When the 78-year-old lost to Joe Biden in 2020, he had received the votes of 32% Hispanics.

Trump's share of Hispanic support was higher even than that of Republican candidate George W. Bush in 2004, when 44% of the Hispanic population had voted for him, per the media outlet.

The economic reforms promised by the 78-year-old appeared to be at the center of this vote swing. According to the US Census Bureau, Hispanics make up the majority of the working-class population in the country, with a large number of them lacking college degrees.

The 78-year-old won the support of the working-class voters across the nation through his populist campaign. In the campaign, he promised to shield the US workers from the global economic competition. He also offered a wide range of tax-cut proposals, leading to his strength increasing among non-white Americans.

The Hispanics also tend to be the average in the country, which indicates that they've had less time to build wealth and were more exposed to economic troubles like high inflation and soaring interest rates for mortgages. Reuters also reported that Trump's support with voters aged between 18 and 29 years moved up by 7% from the 2020 elections.

Following the former president's second victory, the current president, Joe Biden, invited Trump to the Oval Office in the White House on Wednesday, in keeping the tradition of post-election meetings, which the 78-year-old skipped in 2021.
