Attorney Tony Buzbee has recently responded to the statement shared by Jay-Z on X (formerly Twitter) a day after being accused of r*ping a teenage girl back in 2000. The rapper claimed in the statement that Buzbee reportedly tried to blackmail him with a “demand letter.”

Buzbee replied through X on December 10, 2024, with a lengthy statement, denying everything said by Jay-Z. Buzbee wrote:

“Jay Z’s assertions are bogus and laughable. Instead, our firm sent a standard demand letter seeking a mediation on behalf of a woman who alleges Jay-Z sexually assaulted her as a minor. The letter was vetted and approved by our client, whose preference was to attempt resolution short of filing a lawsuit. This approach is common in these types of cases.”

Tony Buzbee mentioned that Jay-Z was trying to avoid the accusations made by the alleged victim by targeting him. Buzbee claimed that Jay has reportedly harassed his family and colleagues and additionally offered money to Buzbee’s previous clients to file a lawsuit against him.

“When an alleged perpetrator behaves in this manner, wildly asserting that a basic demand letter is “extortion,” and aggressively using the media to attack the opposing lawyer while at the same time ignoring the allegations being made by the alleged victim, it reminds me of a famous line from Shakespeare: “The lady doth protest too much, methinks.””

Furthermore, Buzbee wrote in the end that all the problems would be now resolved at the court and added:

“Let me be clear: We will not be bullied or intimidated by these shenanigans. And our clients won’t be silenced.”

Jay-Z approaches the court to dismiss the allegations against him

Also known as Shawn Corey Carter, his name was included in a lawsuit on December 8, 2024, originally filed against Diddy in October of this year. The legal documents claimed that Diddy and Jay allegedly r*ped a 13-year-old girl back in 2000 at a party, as stated by NBC News.

While Jay-Z has already responded to the accusations in a social media statement, his attorney Alex Spiro requested the judge on Monday, December 9, to dismiss the request of the alleged victim to keep her identity hidden.

The legal documents explained the same and stated that Jay deserved to know the identity of the person who had made the accusations against him, damaging the reputation he had earned over the years. The filing also mentioned that it was not correct for the alleged victim to file a lawsuit by being referred to as Jane Doe and added:

“It is not consistent with justice, fairness or the rules governing federal proceedings for the Plaintiff and her counsel to smear Defendant’s good name in ways that are calculated to feed media coverage and this inflict maximum public relations damage while the core fact of Plaintiff’s identity … remains wholly hidden from view.”

The lawsuit filed against Diddy and Jay-Z claimed that the alleged victim was taken to a party by a driver reportedly working for Diddy. According to NBC News, the party allegedly had several people from the industry in attendance and they were reportedly taking drugs.

The alleged victim started feeling uncomfortable after being offered a drink and she went inside a room to take a rest, where she was reportedly r*ped by Diddy and Jay. However, the alleged victim managed to run away from the house by hitting Diddy in the neck and was able to contact her father at a gas station.
