Notably, the motive behind the incident is yet to be revealed and an investigation is ongoing. Tan DaGod was shot when she was at a beauty store for a meet-and-greet session with fans
Also known as Alliauna Green, she attended the reopening event of the beauty shop, Glamor Beauty Supply, in Oakland on July 13, 2024. The ceremony was attended by her fans after Green confirmed her presence through Instagram. However, gunshots were heard at 5 p.m. as soon as the event came to an end.
According to a KRON report on July 23, another person was reportedly injured in the incident but managed to survive. The police officers were immediately called to the spot and they discovered Tan DaGod with a gunshot wound. While she was transported to the hospital, Alliauna succumbed to her injuries.
On the other hand, eyewitnesses shared their experience of what they saw, with a few claiming that Green reportedly had a verbal dispute outside the salon, leading to her death. A Korean BBQ restaurant employee Sul Cho told KTUV on July 17 that everyone "ducked and hit behind the cars." Cho further stated:
"She was performing there, and this guy with a hood just walked in through the gate and started shooting."
Cho claimed that the suspect did not target anyone else except Green, which proved that she was his only target. A doughnut shop owner Vincent also said that although he heard the shots being fired at first, he initially considered it as loud music resulting from a performance. Vincent disclosed that a few people rushed to his shop to take cover and added:
"I think the rapper was screaming, 'I'm hit, I'm hit', and she was just laying on the ground until medics came."
Tan DaGod released a few singles in her career
Alliauna Green maintained a close relationship with her fans through social media. She was active on Instagram with more than 20,000 followers and shared pictures featuring photoshoots wearing different outfits. She described herself as the "hardest artist from the universe" in the bio.
Tan DaGod had an EP titled Ex Wood Pack in her credits, which came out back in September 2023. She was additionally popular for singles such as He Say IM Hold and Fake from Me.
While speaking to KTUV on July 17, Tan's close friend Ernest Holloway called her a "passionate" rapper who aimed to become successful in the future. Meanwhile, detailed information on her survivors remains unknown for now.
