On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, an X post about Post Malone's charitable deed was uploaded on social media and has since gone viral. The photo, posted by @DailyLoud, is Post Malone making half a heart with his hand, with a lady in a red sleeveless hood making the other half.

The caption of the tweet read:

"Post Malone left a $20,000 tip on a $1 bill for Houston bartender Renee Brown, a single mother working two jobs, on Christmas Eve."

The post has received over 3 million views, 152K likes, and 6K reshares. Some netizens admired his good deed, while others showed surprise at what the Sunflower singer could've bought at a bar for $1. One X user wrote:

"What did he buy that was only $1??"
"What the h*ll can you buy for $1," wrote one netizen.
"When her kids ask 'mom, how did we get all these cool gifts' she replied 'I had some help,'" replied another netizen.
"I know a lot of musicians that know him in some capacity and everyone says he is the greatest guy," one post read.

Meanwhile, others were skeptical of the singer's actions. One user even called Post Malone's good deed him buying his way into being called a "good guy."

"It's like he's trying to buy his way into being called a 'good guy.'" commented a user.
"So now it's expected to pay grown adults money to serve drinks, who didn't go to school or got a career ? To enable them. Encourage them to be better people in society," wrote another user.
"Drake gave $1.5m during Christmas.. including a $200k to a medical student mother of one," added another one.

Renee Brown called Post Malone "the most humble, personable celebrity"

Renee Brown, the 36-year-old mother of two who received Post Malone's charitable tip, talked to Billboard about it on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Brown, who works as a bartender at The Railyard Bar in Houston, told the publication how she struggled about having to go to work on Christmas Eve, leaving her 9-year-old daughter behind at home alone, and being clueless about the unexpected "Christmas miracle" was on the way.

Describing her experience of meeting Post Malone, Renee said:

"This is hands down the most humble, personable celebrity I've had the pleasure of meeting. He changed my life on Christmas f**king Eve, and will forever be grateful. Thank you so much, Austin."

Revealing her intention to start a business, Brown described to Billboard how the singer's $20,000 tip would help her, saying:

"This put me in a position to at least be able to get a way back and forth to work and pay up on rent and save a bit. I'm trying to save up to start a business so I don't have to continue working two jobs and be able to spend more time with my daughter."

The bartender continued:

"Things have been extremely difficult, and this was truly a blessing that I can't fully put into words. The visit alone was absolutely amazing and something I could talk about and remember for the rest of my life."

Post Malone's holiday generosity comes a month after he was named one of the headliners in the Coachella 2025 festival this April.

Malone, who will join Travis Scott, Green Day, and Lady Gaga in the opening act, has previously performed at the festival multiple times but never as a headliner. The Whitehouse Road singer was scheduled to headline the 2020 festival, which got canceled due to COVID.

Besides the headliners, other acts at Coachella will be delivered by Charlie XCX, Megan Thee Stallion, Missy Elliot, Shaboozey, Benson Boone, Sam Fender, Blonde Redhead, and the K-pop band Enhyphen.
