Rapper Cam'ron has called for an investigation into Duke University basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski following an alleged incident where Cam claims he received a cold shoulder from the coach during a recent encounter.
On July 15, 2024, during an episode of the Is What It Is podcast, a host, Ma$e, exclaimed Coach K excitedly. Following this, Cam approached Coach K, seeking acknowledgment, but reportedly received what he perceived as a "cold shoulder" from the basketball coach.
Upon returning, Cam suggested that there should be an investigation into the coach. He also hinted that he knows about financial matters in North Carolina related to the coach and said he would reveal more information later,
"We need to do an investigation on Coach K behind that shit. We do a It Is What It Is investigation [expletive]. All them banks you got in North Carolina I know what's going on. Nah [expletive] that, now I'm going to expose Coach K."
The coach has not disclosed Cam's claims regarding the coach's bank details. However, the coach, who has served 42 years in coaching, reportedly has a net worth of $45 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Rapper Cam'ron calls for probe into Mike Krzyzewski after alleged snub:
On Monday, during a podcast where Cam'ron, Ma$e, and Stat Baby, serving as the hosts, were engaged in a conversation when Ma$e spotted Mike Krzyzewski, aka Coach K, on a monitor screen that depicts CCTV footage leaving the show as it approached an end.
Killa Cam promptly approached him for a photograph, but behind the scenes, Krzyzewski continued walking, purportedly ignoring Cam'ron. Upon returning, Cam recounted this incident, which amused Ma$e and Stat Baby.
In the video clip shared online, Cam'ron expressed his disappointment in a lighthearted manner as he confronts Krzyzewski, suggesting that Krzyzewski had "walked off" on Cam,
"[Expletive], you think you got Zion for free before the NIL? Google the shit real quick. How many banks do Coach K own? You gonna walk off on me, Coach K?"
Cam'ron then asserted that Krzyzewski has many banking connections in North Carolina and has allegedly been involved in financial activities for a considerable period,
"Coach K own mad banks in North Carolina, and he been funneling [expletive] money for years. I don't give a f-ck."
He continued,
"Coach K got mad banks in North Carolina, Zion to Grant Hill to everybody he been putting through his banks so it looks legitimate. He been paying [expletive] for years before the NIL."
By this time, Ma$e and Stat Baby were laughing and quickly slid off the stage. The rapper continued expressing his frustration and repeatedly said to call an investigation on Mike Krzyzewski. What happened is unknown, as the producer cut the show, and the credits slid up, ending the show.
Cam'ron and Ma$e did not make headlines on his podcast for this reason but also for responding to Rap-A-Lot Records owner J. Prince. The past weekend, in the It Is What It Is podcast, Killa Cam and Murda called Stevenson's recent world title defense against Artem Harutyunyan "boring." As a response, J. Prince, who manages Stevenson, stern a warning on Instagram and wrote,
"NUMBERS DONT LIE HATERS DO. Let the haters say that he's boring and nobody wants to watch him. Sorry to tell you it's just a select few of you haters."
In response, Ma$e said in Monday's episode that if you are sixty and trying to act like a younger person, you have failed, taking direct aim at J. Prince's remarks.
Cam'ron has not provided further details regarding the references he made. However, his mention of Zion Williamson could be related to Williamson's recent legal victory in May 2024, hinting at a potential connection between the two subjects.
Zion Williamson prevailed in a legal dispute with his former marketing agent, Gina Ford, who was seeking $100 million from Williamson for an alleged contract breach. According to Front Office Sports, a federal appeals court affirmed an earlier ruling that permitted Williamson to void their five-year contract, which was signed in 2019 during his time at Duke.
Mike Krzyzewski is yet to respond to Cam'ron's claims.
