On Wednesday, September 25, Cardi B and Offset reportedly had a public confrontation on social media. The WAP singer said that she regretted her relationship with the Migos rapper. The couple, who recently welcomed their third child, has been in the headlines for their on-and-off relationship.
In an Instagram Live session on Wednesday, Cardi B spoke about her relationship with Offset. The rapper reportedly expressed regret over her estranged husband, saying,
"But f**k you, I regret you. I'm too good for you. I've always been too good for you."
Despite appreciating their children, Cardi stated she no longer wanted any part in her relationship with Offset. The couple currently has three children: Kulture Kiari Cephus, born in July 2018; Wave Set Cephus, born in September 2021; and a baby girl, born earlier this month.
"Now we're going to court war, right?": Cardi B claims during Instagram Live
The confrontation between the two artists became heated when Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, 32, reportedly accused Cardi B (Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar), 31, of infidelity. Cardi took to Instagram Live, where she said she was grateful for her children but regretted the relationship, adding,
"Thank you for my kids though, all three of them, I don't regret any of them but I regret you. You're a good daddy, you're all right but I don't regret any of them."
The rapper, known for hits like Bodak Yellow and Drip, also spoke about a court battle, saying,
"Since you wanna f**king threaten me, talking about you wanna take my sh*t, you wanna take my sh*t because I'm moving on? Move on. Move on. Why can't you move on?" later adding, "It's no fun when Mama's got the gun, right? Now we're going to court war, right?"
A now-deleted comment from Offset's account, as reported by Hollywood Unlocked and E!, stated,
"U f**ked with a baby inside tell the truth!!"
Cardi B tweeted on X the same day, writing, "AND DID !!!!!!", which led to widespread speculation among fans that she was responding to Offset's comments. Cardi also tweeted,
"A hurt Nik*a will do the unthinkable"
Cardi B and Offset were first linked as a couple in February 2017 after they attended Super Bowl LI together. They married on September 20, 2017, though Offset proposed to Cardi on October 27, 2017, during Power 99's Powerhouse concert.
The Taki-Taki singer initially filed for divorce from Offset in September 2020 but withdrew the petition later. On November 20, 2021, Cardi spoke to E! where she said,
"Of course we went through some challenges," adding "We had to get to know each other better. But I feel like I've never been happier. I really feel like [it's] not even just like marriage, it's the family, the unity, the friendship that we have, the 'I have your back, you have my back."
On August 1, 2024, Cardi's representative confirmed to Page Six that the rapper had filed for divorce on July 31.
Representatives for Cardi B and Offset have not yet commented publicly on the situation.
