Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested on Monday on unspecified charges by federal agents. The indictment was sealed and was expected to be unsealed on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. MSNBC reported three charges that had been filed against the music mogul: racketeering conspiracy; s*x trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The s*x trafficking charges have been filed in connection to events that allegedly occurred in the period between 2009 and 2018. The prostitution charges were related to events that happened between 2009 and 2024.

The music mogul got arrested about six months after federal agents conducted a raid at his luxurious residences in Miami and Los Angeles. Over the past year, Combs has faced several allegations in which people accused him of abusing them.

According to the indictment, the defendant "abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill s*xual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct."

Marc Agnifilo, Combs' lawyer told the media that his client is innocent and feels "confident". He said:

"Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the black community."

The lawyer added:

"He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. His spirits are good. He’s confident.”

The 54-year-old rapper was known to be a very influential figure in the music industry, until last year when he first started getting involved in lawsuits.

The indictment accused Sean "Diddy" Combs of using his company as a criminal enterprise

Reportedly, some charges filed against Diddy in the recent indictment claim that he used his company as a "criminal foundation" where his associates got involved in "s*x trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice."

According to Forbes, the music mogul was allegedly involved in several instances where he caused abuse in different forms including verbal, emotional, s*xual, and physical. While prosecutors confirmed the mogul's arrest on Monday, the indictment was unsealed only on Tuesday morning.

After the indictment happened, Agnifilo told CNN:

"We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the US Attorney’s Office."

He even mentioned that Diddy had relocated to New York City voluntarily, after anticipating the charges against him. The lawyer further urged that people shouldn't form a judgment before all the facts are presented. Agnifilo claimed that all this while, Diddy has cooperated with the authorities. Even during the raid in March, he showed total cooperation.

The record executive has denied all allegations against him since the beginning. In a now-deleted social media post, Diddy wrote:

"Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged."

While the 54-year-old had been arrested and indicted, it is still unclear where his case might go in the future. It is now a matter of time to wait and see what happens next.
