NBA Youngboy faces 63 charges
Law enforcement alleged that NBA Youngboy called in a prescription to a Hyru pharmacy for a 74-year-old unidentified woman in September. The singer allegedly claimed to be a physician from the Provo locality and managed to procure the prescription drugs by showing “an actual, valid DEA number, NPI number, and other identification for the real physician.”
The pharmacist then reportedly noted that the phone number provided by the singer did not match the doctor’s clinic, leading to them calling the doctor directly. The doctor immediately noted that he did not write the said prescription for the 74-year-old woman. The doctor also claimed that this was not the first time such an incident had occurred.
It has also been reported that the Bandit singer was part of the prescription fraud ring case where the accused allegedly attempted to obtain promethazine with codeine. According to The Source, the blend is oftentimes mixed with the Sprite beverage to form the “lean” concoction, which is well-known in the music industry.
NBA Youngboy was arrested after a prescription bottle of promethazine was found in his residence with the name of the fake patient written on the bottle. Law enforcement also reportedly found him with marijuana and a gun, which the rapper claimed belonged to his wife.
