Chris Brown and Kehlani are coming under fire after the former posted a new picture of the two of them on his Instagram on Sunday, August 4, while he called the songstress his "twin."
What left social media users scratching their heads about the reunion is that the Look at Me Now Artist previously mocked Kehlani's attempted s**cide, saying that she's just "flexing for the gram" and asking for sympathy. However, in the new selfie, Brown cozied up next to Kehlani with his tongue out while the songstress had their eyes closed.
After posting the photo, fans were quick to comment about their link-up, reigniting discussions and mixed reactions on social media.
Some netizens called out the After Hours singer for reconnecting with someone who previously criticized their s**cide attempt.
"Joked about you k!!ing yourself and you too a picture with him oh Kehlani...," a fan on X wrote.
"Like how you link up with the same man who mocked your s**cide attempt," another X user noted.
"Kehlani hanging out with Chris Brown genuinely feels like the biggest f**king slap to the face," another X user wrote.
"Twin?? Huh? After he made fun of- ok," a user on X added.
That said, some fans were more positive about the possibility that Chris Brown and Kehlani had talked about the past feud and that the songstress had forgiven him about it.
"This was 8 years ago...people change and mature," one commenter said.
"Okay obviously they talked about it and she forgave him since they took the pic? Yall be more mad than the people involved," another one commented.
Chris Brown has faced public scrutiny since 2009 when news broke that he assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna after an argument in his car.
Chris Brown continues to face legal issues for violent acts
Around 15 years after he was arrested for physically assaulting Rihanna in February 2009, the R&B singer continues to be in hot water legally and on social media for his alleged violent acts.
Chris Brown is currently facing a $50 million worth of lawsuit after an alleged assault at his recent concert. After his performance in Ft. Worth Texas on July 20 as part of his 11:11 tour, the singer allegedly physically assaulted a concertgoer who claimed to have received severe injuries and emotional distress from the altercation.
The lawsuit was filed two days after the said event, but Chris Brown's lawyers have since fought back against the assault claim. The singer's lawyer, Levi G. McCathern, claimed that the Weakest Link singer didn't start the scuffle and that the men who indulged in the fight deliberately did so to get a reaction from the singer.
McCathern further questioned why those men were backstage and near the R&B singer's dressing room during the incident, noting that the invasion of Brown's personal space was another issue. Brown is currently on his 11:11 tour, which is scheduled to finish in Los Angeles on August 6.
