Halsey, the acclaimed singer-songwriter known for hits like Be Kind, recently shared a health update with fans following a hospitalization after experiencing a seizure. The incident has raised concerns among their followers, prompting Halsey to be transparent about their ongoing health challenges and illnesses.

In June 2024, they publicly shared that they had been diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system attacks its own tissues. They were also diagnosed with a rare condition known as T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder, where white blood cells multiply uncontrollably, leading to health issues.

The singer's health journey has included various other diagnoses, including bipolar disorder, endometriosis, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), Sjögren’s syndrome, and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS).

On September 25, 2024, the singer, who uses she/they pronouns, posted a video on Instagram from a hospital bed, where they were accompanied by fiancé Avan Jogia.

"Happy Late Bi Visibility Day. This year I’m celebrating by dying with a man by my side (for legal reasons that’s a joke)," they wrote.

In the video, Halsey is seen with an IV in their arm, flashing a peace sign while expressing their disappointment about plans for the day being disrupted.

Halsey shares health updates via Q&A session on X

Later that evening, Halsey engaged with fans in a Q&A session on X, responding to inquiries about their health.

"I’m home from the hospital now after a few days, so a win is a win!" they revealed.

When asked if the hospitalization was related to their chronic health issues, they candidly stated that they had a "scary" seizure and mentioned that it wasn't something they would "recommend."

This incident follows the singer's previous revelations about their health struggles. In June 2024, through a public post on social media, the singer disclosed their diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus, a chronic autoimmune disease, along with a rare condition known as T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder.

Both conditions can significantly impact one’s quality of life.

In the post, the singer explained that they were currently managing these diseases.

"In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life," they stated.

The artist is set to release their new album in October

The Graveyard singer is gearing up for the release of their fifth studio album, The Great Impersonator, which is set to launch on October 25, 2024. Halsey has described the album as a deeply personal project, stating in a previous announcement that it was created during a period of personal reflection.

"I made this record in the space between life and death. And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it. I’ll wait a bit longer. I’ve waited a decade, already," they said in a statement.

The tracklist for The Great Impersonator includes songs like Only Girl Living in LA, Dog Years, Panic Attack, I Believe in Magic, Hometown, I Never Loved You, Darwinism, Arsonist, Life of the Spider (DRAFT), Hurt Feelings, and more.

At the time of writing, no further comments have been made regarding Halsey’s health or the impact of their hospitalization on upcoming appearances or projects. The singer has not specified any changes to their planned schedule or album promotion activities.
