Kehlani’s ex, Javaughn Young-White, took her to court in August, seeking full custody of their daughter, Adeya. Amid their legal tribulations, Javaughn has now alleged that the singer is not co-parenting their daughter in a manner suitable for their five-year-old child. Since then, the R&B singer has taken to Instagram to address certain allegations made by Javaughn.
As per Times Now, Javaughn alleged in court documents that Kehlani described their daughter as “one of her wives in a past life.” He went on to share text message screenshots, which Kehlani has since claimed have been doctored.
The accusations also led to many believing that the Honey crooner has an inappropriate relationship with Adeya, subsequently leading to Kehlani addressing the same on Instagram.
On November 14, Kehlani took to Instagram to reveal that she took part in a spiritual reading and shared the results with Javaughn. She added:
“To have those screenshots then doctored, the rest of messages left out, to make me seem like i consider myself to be an inappropriate relationship with my DAUGHTER.. Is the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever f**king heard… i’ve sat there and watched the public only have access to ONE SIDE of things. but THIS is where i absolutely draw the line."
Kehlani, whose full name is Kehlani Ashley Parrish then added:
"I do NOT, and have NEVER considered myself in any sort of inappropriate relationship with my child. The rest of these absolutely monstrous allegations are being addressed in court. Thank you.”
Parrish also shared screenshots from her end where she stated in one of the messages that the spiritual reader told her that her daughter was from "south amurrica" in her past life and was her "wife." She also said in the messages that her next child would be Adeya's "teacher."
For the uninitiated, Javaughn is a guitarist. Kehlani and Javaughn welcomed Adeya into the world on March 23, 2019, after dating for a year. They broke up shortly after the birth of their child and have been co-parenting since then.
Javaughn Young-White expressed fear for his daughter being “s*xually abused”
In previous court documents obtained by People magazine, Javaughn alleged that Adeya was born through “home birth,” which was demanded by the “cult” Parrish allegedly belonged to. He went on to allege that his name was not mentioned on their daughter’s birth certificate.
He also expressed in court that he believed that Adeya does not have a social security number as Parrish “refuses” to give it to him.
Javaughn further alleged that the cult leader, who allegedly goes by the name of ‘Neto,’ was performing “religious ceremonies” on Adeya. The musician alleged that nobody else was allowed to be inside the room during the ceremonies. This has led to him believing that his daughter can be a victim of s*xual assault, as Neto already has “numerous accusations of committing s*xual assault against women and young girls.”
He went on to allege that the cult member took baths with Adeya while being under the influence of “psychedelic drugs.” He then alleged:
“While [Kehlani] is on tour, and our daughter is in the care of her fellow cult members, Adeya sleeps in the bed, and is given baths by random adult members of the cult and she is often in the bedroom alone with some of these people.”
Javaughn also alleged that he was prevented from meeting Adeya multiple times as per the orders of the cult.
Parrish had not addressed the allegations of her currently being involved in a cult and them taking care of Adeya in her absence at the time of writing this article. However, she did address some accusations in a legal statement, where she said:
"I strongly deny any claims that I have put my child in harm's way, or left my child alone with anyone deemed dangerous or unsafe. I also do not align with any of these allegations made against my former religious community that have been stated in the media.
Javaughn went on to retract statements made against Neto days after the court documents were made public in August. He said in an Instagram statement that Adeya was no longer affiliated with Neto's Church when he was "presented with the allegations against Neto."
He added that certain allegations that were listed in the petition, especially those against Neto and his religious community, were "careless."
The court battle remains ongoing.
