Political commentator Candace Owens took to her YouTube channel on Thursday, July 13, to address Eminem's criticism of her in his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace). In Lucifer, which is the sixth track of the album, the rapper and songwriter commented on how Owens forgot "she was Black".
Similarly, in Bad One, the album's 16th track, he rapped how #Blexit movement founder "turned her back on her own race.” In response, Owens called Eminem a "gay man".
“First thing I want to say is Eminem is obviously a gay man," said Owens in her Youtube video.
Owens' video reiterates the statements she made in response to Eminem's cease and desist letter to American businessman Vivek Ramaswamy in August 2023.
“Some people also say that when we get older we get grayer. We know that’s true. But for Eminem, the once hardcore rapper, it seems that he is getting older and gayer. Yes, Eminem might be gay," the right wing influencer said at the time.
“We should pray for him” — Candace Owens calls Eminem a “gay man” on YouTube channel
Multiple Grammy-winning rapper Eminem released his 12th album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), on Friday, July 12. In addition to criticizing Hollywood A-listers like Alec Baldwin and American rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs in a few songs, Slim Shady also called out right-wing pundit Candance Owens.
In Lucifer, Eminem rapped:
“And Candace O, I ain’t mad at her. I ain’t gon’ throw the fact b**ch forgot she was Black back at her, laugh at her like them crackers she’s backin’ after her back is turned.”
The rapper, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, also referred to Candace Owens as a “MAGA dirtbag in a skirt.” A few other names he called the latter included “Grand Wizard,” "Klandace,” and “Grand Dragon.”
Owens took to her YouTube channel and responded in her- LIVE! Eminem Drops A Diss Track About Me I Candace Ep 24 video that Eminem was a “struggling, internally gay man.” The 35-year-old stated:
"It’s sad that Eminem cleaned out his closet but never came out of his closet… There’s a lot happening with him, we should pray for him.”
Owens went on to state that Marshall was “gay” because he “recycled” everything Black women had said about her and placed it in his song.
The political activist further stated that she wanted to help the rapper as his career “was going down the drain," adding that she had the power to make him “relevant” just by speaking about him in public.
Owens then said that Eminem was “turning his back on his own race” by using a slur against Caucasian people in his song, Lucifer. She then called the singer an “out-of-touch elitist.”
The YouTuber ended her segment about the musician by opining that it is time for him to retire from the music scene.
“He is a lesson to a lot of people out there that you need to know when it’s time for you to retire. You don’t want to retire on this note right? Eminem is 51 years old, he has not modified his brand at all. He has not grown up," Candace Owens said.
Owens also said the following in her exclusive statement to Entertainment Weekly:
"I was honored when Dave Chapelle made fun of me, because Chapelle is in his prime. Grandpa Shady is just depressing to me. Eminem should retire or evolve.”
Apart from dissing Owens, Eminem also took shots at Ja Rule, Caitlyn Jenner, and the late Christopher Reeves, among others.
