Rapper Enchanting, whose real name was Channing Nicole Larry, passed away in June 2024 because of an accidental overdose at 26. Her cause of death was confirmed by the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office, TMZ reported on August 23.

Representative reveals Enchanting was trying to get clean
On the day of her passing, Enchanting was rushed to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. It was there that she succumbed to the effects of the overdose. The autopsy further revealed that the substances found in her system- oxycodone and benzodiazepines- were the reason behind her untimely demise.
These drugs are known for their high risk of addiction. There's also a potential for fatal overdose, particularly when combined.
A representative revealed that Enchanting had been trying to beat her addictions to substance abuse. They said to The Shade Room that in her last four days, she had been trying to get clean. She "tried her best," and the representative said they did everything they could to help her, the Daily Mail reported.
In an interview on the Cigar Talk podcast that came out in 2023, she reflected on the dangers of drug use. She touched on the loss of a friend to an overdose, saying,
"I understand that people do whatever they do if they feel like they're going through pain or they just going through something, they want to feel better. But it's a big risk. Like, you could take one pill and literally die, like, immediately."
Enchanting was born in Germany, while her father was stationed there with the U.S. Army. Enchanting spent her formative years in Atlanta and Fort Worth, Texas. She began her music career at 18, fresh out of high school. She signed to Gucci Mane's 1017 Records in 2020.
In no time, she began collaborating with high-profile figures like Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, and the late Big Scarr. Her style, described as "Trap-n-Blues" earned her millions of streams on platforms like Spotify and YouTube. She released two full-length albums during her career: No Luv in 2022 and Luv Scarred / No Luv in 2023.
Following the news of her passing, Gucci Mane took to Instagram to express his sympathies. He posted a photo of Enchanting, with the caption,
"So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady, a true star we gone all miss you Chant."
Her family also released a statement on Instagram as a screenshot of the late rapper's account, stating,
"We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our sweet and beloved daughter. She lived her life with grace and blessed so many with friendship, laughter, and love."
Enchanting's boyfriend, MotionGod Bandman, also posted a tribute on social media. He stated that while she found the peace she was looking for, her passing has left him hurt.
Many in the music community also expressed their disbelief and grief on social media. Artists like Erica Banks, Monaleo, Omeretta the Great, Yella Breezy, and Tokyo Vanity commented on her talent, kindness, and the bright future she had ahead of her.
