There's a new fan theory swirling on the internet—one that claims that Drake might release footage of himself baiting Kendrick Lamar with false information. The Canadian rapper's fanbase is theorizing that the move comes as part of his ongoing 100 Gigs project. This theory has since caused a frenzy on the internet.
"i’m crying what is this fan fiction bro," one user tweeted.
The theory first surfaced on X when a user posted about their suspicions, writing,
“I low key feel like this 100 gigs drops are eventually gonna lead to footage of Drake feeding Kendrick the fake info.”
The tweet then went viral, with Akademiks TV sharing it on Instagram and X. Fans in the comments were quick to share their thoughts, with many dissing the rapper and questioning the validity of the theory.
"If there was legit evidence of such, Drake would have popped off instantly on his socials with said evidence the second kendrick dropped MTG lol. Ya'll need to move on. Accept that Drake took the L this time around," one user tweeted.
"People really delusional man," another dissed.
"His wounds haven’t healed from the previous battle. I would advise caution if I was him," a user advised.
"If he do this he won hands down," another chimed in.
"All that work just to still lose a beef would be wild," another dissed.
"Would be epic lmao, no rebuttal for that," one user wrote.
On Akademiks TV's Instagram post, many users voiced their disapproval of the theory. One user claimed that the rapper would be "better off acting like he didn't know where Kendrick got the info," while another argued that he "lost" anyway, rendering this new information useless.
100 Gigs: Kanye West gives shoutout to Drake
The latest addition to the 100 Gigs project included footage of Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, speaking at OVO Fest in August 2013. In the video, West praises the Canadian rapper-actor for his influence on the music industry. He also put the spotlight on how Drake's pressure led to the creation of the album Watch the Throne. During the event, West remarked,
“Me and Hov would’ve never made Watch The Throne if this n***a wasn’t putting pressure on us like that. So I just want to pay my respect.”
Drake then responded backstage, gushing over his fellow rapper. He noted that he's a long-time fan, saying,
“I’m the biggest Ye fan, period. Sometimes I feel like I can’t like it because I gotta go against it. But that sh*t tonight was almost therapeutic.”
Much like him and Kendrick, "Drizzy" and Ye, too, have had a tumultuous relationship in the past. Notably though, during his performance in South Korea in August 2024, Ye gave a shoutout to his fellow rapper. What's more is he then dedicated his song I Wonder to him.
In the meantime, the rapper's next move remains under wraps. The feud between Kendrick and the Toronto-native rages on, leaving fans no choice but to wonder if there's more to the 100 Gigs project than what meets the eye.
Drake dropped the second 100 Gigs dump on Sunday, August 25, 2024. It included three new tracks and featured cameos from Ye, The Weeknd, and Mustard, among others.
