Charlamagne Tha God recently joined Andrew Schulz on the Brilliant Idiots podcast. In the episode uploaded on YouTube on Saturday, January 18, 2025, C Tha God called the interview between Elliott Wilson and Cam'ron from last week "sad," adding that Cam "wasted his time with the guy whose face looks like it was uncircumcised".
The Breakfast Club host continued to say:
"I would rather Cam and Jim had that nice conversation as opposed to Elliott. It's just sad, man... I just think it's wack [....] You can't be the guy that is sticking your chest out, saying whatever you want to say whenever you want to say it, but as soon as someone put some pressure on you."
Charlamagne Tha God's comment adds to the ongoing feud between the two media personalities, which started last year when he criticized Wilson's mention on Complex's Hip-Hop media power ranking.
Elliott Wilson apologized to Cam'ron for his Stephen A. Smith comment
The conversation that Charlamagne Tha God was referring to was the January 13 episode of Talk With Flee, where Elliott Wilson joined Cam'ron and Treasure Wilson (aka Stat Baby) for a debate.
Per HotNewHipHop's January 14 report, the two talked about Wilson's criticism of Cam and music journalism in the podcast. Wilson was then trolled by Cam on Talk With Flee, where he jokingly said:
"When I'm looking at Elliott now, it's like, I didn't know your face looked like pepper-jack turkey. The texture of your skin looks like pepper-jack turkey. You look like you sweat duck sauce. You look like a sloppy sandwich in the face. My bad, I didn't know. I've never really looked at you like that."
Wilson's criticism of Cam was done in an interview with Rory and Mal in December 2024, where he compared the latter to Stephen A. Smith. When Elliott was asked to clarify his statement in the debate, he ended up apologizing to Cam'ron about it, saying:
"I was embarrassed by my appearance at the Rory and Mal thing. They caught me in a vulnerable moment... Being somebody who has been in the hip-hop media since the early 90s, seeing all the changes taking place, for so many athletes and artists taking up the marketplace is a little tough now for traditional journalists. So I think my frustration came out and I targeted Cam and that wasn't fair and I was wrong."
Charlamagne Tha God complained about Elliott Wilson's Complex ranking last year
This isn't the first time Charlamagne Tha God has talked about Elliott Wilson in an interview. In July 2024, the podcaster elaborated on his issue with Wilson in another episode of the Brilliant Idiots podcast. Per HottNewHipHop's July 2024 report, C Tha God complained about Wilson being ranked number 5 on Complex's Hip-Hop Media Power Ranking.
Charlamagne Tha God also accused Wilson of avoiding direct confrontation, claiming that the latter refused to sit down with him for a one-on-one.
C Tha God also brought up an article that Danyel Smith, Elliott's wife, wrote about Diddy, arguing that he's the person Wilson should be beefing with. Then highlighting the need for consistency, the 46-year-old added:
"We gotta stop the performative stuff. Don't say the things to me just because you're trying to get traction on social media and play the role. I want you to be consistent."
The radio host continued:
"...the same way it's easy to get at a Charlamgne because you don't think a Charlamagne is gonna say nothing back to you. I need you to keep that same energy for people that you really should have smoke with."
Charlamagne's criticism of Wilson was met with a response when Elliott appeared on the Bag Fuel podcast, where he said he was tired of Charlamagne Tha God. Wilson continued:
"I feel like we just never really clicked like that and also I didn't like the last Brilliant Idiots s**t he did talking crazy about me being on that list. Never explaining why I shouldn't be top five, and I'm just tired of his s**t. It's old school. At a certain point, you just gotta say f**k this person. F**k you. I was born in 1971. It can just be that. We don't have to be cool. We don't gotta pretend."
Charlamagne Tha God's episode on the Brilliant Idiots with Andrew Schulz has since garnered 220K views on YouTube.
