“We fought hard for a harder charge”- Chinx’s wife Nelli’s statement explored after Quincy pleads guilty
As the news of Quincy Homere pleading guilty to the crime surfaced, Chinx’s wife, Nelli commented on the update, and posted on Instagram:
"We fought hard for a harder charge which should be murder 2 cause in the state of NY, murder 1 is only given in the cases of government officials being murdered. He wouldn’t take the murder 2 which would of ended in a lengthy trial that we were obviously ready for!!"
Expressing her displeasure, Nelli said:
“We are not happy with this charge but one can not dodge whatever GOD has planned for him! Manslaughter has me livid n heartbroken. He deserves to spend his life in jail … but we will be there August 12 to hear him get sentenced … CHINX WILL FOREVER LIVE ON THRU IS ALL!! Thank you to all that has continued to support us thru this journey!"
On the other hand, as the news about Quincy being guilty came out, representatives of the deceased rapper also posted through his official Instagram account, giving out the details about how Quincy’s “sentencing will be held at 9 am on August 12, 2024 at Queen's criminal court.” Sharing China's picture, the post read:
“After 9 years, one of the individuals responsible for the Murder of Lionel “Chinx” Pickens pled Guilty to a reduced charge of Manslaughter. His sentencing will be held at 9am on August 12th, 2024 at Queens criminal court. While this plea is out of our control, and of no consolation to the family, loved ones, and countless fans of Chinx, It brings certainty to many unanswered questions.”
As per Complex, investigators who arrested Quincy and Jamar were convinced that they murdered the rapper due to a previous altercation that took place at Rikers Island. The publication mentioned that Homere, who is an aspiring rapper, indulged in a physical spat with Fon Pickens on September 27, 2009.
However, Homere and the rapper also got into another fight in April 2015 at the Dope House singer’s concert in Philadelphia.
Chinx was best known for his songs, I’m a Coke Boy, Right There, We Up in Here, Feelings, Couple Niggas, On Your Body, How to Get Rich, and For the Love, among others.
