DJ Vlad recently revealed to his fans that he and podcaster Joe Budden put aside their differences to end their 15-year-long "beef" this Christmas. The two internet personalities had bad blood, which reportedly stemmed from a 2008 incident with Rick Ross after Vlad sued the rapper for ordering an attack against him.

On December 25, 2024, DJ Vlad announced he squashed his "beef" with Joe Budden to his 209K followers on X. In his post, he claimed he ran into Budden while shopping in New York on December 24. He elaborated that this was the first time the two had faced each other since 2008.

"After 15 years of "beef," I ran into Joe Budden shopping in New York yesterday. It was the first time we'd seen each other since 2008. I walked up to him, we shook hands, congratulated each other on our success, and talked about our families. It was a real grown-man moment. Happy holidays, everyone," he said.

Exploring Joe Budden's feud with DJ Vlad

DJ Vlad has taken 2024 as the year to mend fences with his many rivals. In March 2024, he and his former employee, Shirley Ju, ended their feud, which began after Vlad fired Ju in 2022. Vlad appeared on Ju's show Shirley's Temple. He also publicly apologized to her in November 2023.

DJ Vlad also apologized to White Chicks actor Marlon Wayans after the two exchanged heated words over negotiations for an interview. Now, DJ Vlad has seemingly decided to squash his beef with fellow internet personality and former rapper Joe Budden on Christmas.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, Joe Budden and DJ Vlad's feud began in 2008 after Vlad's altercation with rapper Rick Ross during the Ozone Awards. This led to Vlad suing Ross for assault, which he won in 2010. Ross was ordered to pay $300,000.

DJ Vlad unpacked his side of the beef with Budden during a July 2020 interview with Adam22 on the No Jumper podcast. Vlad claimed that an incident between the two left Budden "salty." He added that he had tried to mend fences with Budden's hip-hop supergroup Slaughterhouse, but the podcaster allegedly still held a grudge.

Following this, Budden addressed Vlad directly on his podcast in a July 2020 episode. Vlad's lawsuit against Rick Ross did not seemingly sit well with Budden, who called out the Ukrainian-American journalist for instigating fights and dubbing this incident "strike one."

"People that antagonize and provoke and then sue when repercussions occur, I view it a certain way. I will be honest with you. That was strike one for me with you," he said.

Joe Budden added his strike two came after Vlad allegedly tried to instigate animosity "between Black men" when he showed up at Budden's place with his rival Ransom. Budden also claimed that Vlad tried to "take advantage" of him in his early career. However, his strike three was Vlad airing footage of Crooked I's shooting in 2009 in LA.

"That was not only a legal matter, but a street matter, and a friend matter. It's not that there's a beef still. It's not a beef... There's nothing [for us] to really fight about," Budden said.
